Here in wv where I live there was a group of guys got to bragging that they killed 60 or 80 coons off of one ridge in one month and that's not counting other people hunting in the same spots.

Those guys think that if 5 coons go up one tree all 5 has to come out and I think that's ridiculous. All the places where I hunt at are hunted to death 7 nights a week two or three groups of hunters are waiting for one group to pull out of that spot so they can turn loose.

So coons around here in wv doesn't have a chance on getting a good population established.

Food = coons yes. Our coon up here are plenty, however still less than what it was 10 years ago. Our coon are also usually at least 25 lbs when full grown. Much larger than the mountain coons that don’t have as much food and also not a abundant of a population. Wouldn’t trade our 10-40 acre hunting spots for anything.
