-- How do we sort through to reality? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928501075)
Eeeedward I only hunted with rattler twice and he was 10 yrs old but when he got struck he never opened in the same place twice always advancing the right way with the coon on the end. Conditions change here from one extreme to the other over night you got to have a dog with enough heart to hit this ruff stuff but hunt it out as he goes and have enough heart to finish what they start without blueticking it and that might some nights be the only coon you strike so you don't want them to blow it acting like a dummy. That's the only way I can describe it.
Tar
Tar, I don't mean to take anything from Rattler and not running him down, but there was a lot of hunters seen him before you did and there was a reason they were not interested in breeding to him. His other half brothers like Yadkin River Tom Tom, Hall of Fame Tar River ET, Yadkin River Champ, he wasn't as good as any of them. Now, Back to what Bruce said about these forums you have 1000s of hits on a question that guys look at but don't say anything and the same half dozen guys jump on here and try to answer the question and come up with something and someone will say I 2xs that and I 3xs that and the whole bunch together don't know what there talking about and It's not just on here its the same on all forums, There is 1000s that are looking at this and not saying anything. Lets here from someone else.......
Eeeeeeedward I seen them all look bad some sold for a lot of $$$$ but some never were top shelf but they reproduced better than their self hey he reproduced good enough to get $1000 stud fees and they were standing in line ............. You ever hunt with him or was that hearsay.
Tar

FasterEddy, I think most will agree that a good track dog has a larger percentage of his coon. Down here you need that track dog for accuracy if you want to put it that way. The reason is these swamps will take there toll on a mans good behavior and make them want to hurt a slick treeing dog. That is if the man has any sense.
Normally I love to putter around the house and get some projects going. Today I figured out that staining a deck isn't one of them. I got the base coat on and hopefully tomorrow I can get the stain on. I am going to read the instructions again and hopefully it will say give it a few days to dry out good. LOL

Well Tar, I owned Hall of Fame inductee Tar River ET that was Rattlers half brother and ET was bred better then him being ET's mother was a daughter of Old River Bend Flag, ET was hunted with Rattler and Champ and Crowder. ET was a COON DOG. ET was high scoring dog Friday night at Southeastern Treeing Walker days 1987 then in 1988 Won it all and was on the cover of the hand book. ET was one of the best dogs off Old Yadkin River Jeff, that is why I wasn't one of the guys standing in that line to bred to Rattler. Boy there's one for the history books!! HHEHEHEHEHE!!!!! LOL LOL!!!
Tar, Now that I think about it Gorden Gilroy, Weller and Harvey French hunted Rattler when he was 2 years old maybe 3 years old, I knew about that dog long before you ever heard of him. I want you to tell me something I don't know.... HEHEHE!!LOLOLO!!!
Well Now

Carson said you got a Hillary foundation tee shirt you wear every day.
Tar

Tar
Tar...he doesn’t own a Hilary T-shirt...or...has never worn it because if he had he would of been shot a long ago...lol

Yes Tar, That is were I got the dog, I bought him to freeze his semen. Back then I owned 8 females directly off River Bend Flag and 3 females off Houses Lipper and 3 other Yadkin River females of Jimmy Meeks Dogs. I had a 150 dogs here mostly pups up to 5 month old, for about a 10 year span. That is how I sold dogs in all 48 states. I have the experience to know what training methods work on ALL DOGS! HEHEHEHEHE!!LOLOLOL!!
Oh my goodness, we now have someone that knows more than Tarbaby. I don't know if this board can stand that. Mr Eddy who was the better reproducer, Rattler or ET?
Mr Conkey, the start of this thread was the question, How do we sort through to reality? And now we have a prime example of the problem.
Who was "the best reproducer of all time?" was it Rattler or one of his brothers? Should we believe Tarbaby or Mr Eddy? They both seem very knowledgeable on the subject. This is just one example of what this post is all about. Is one of them living in a dream world and one in reality? Or is Lipper the greatest Reproducer of all time and they are both living in a dream world? How are we to know?
Mr.fasteddie,i have looked up a few trees in my life from dogs from the joe house line to the jim "wildman' meeks line of dogs, but if you think someone like me is gonna get on here and post things and try to match WITS with you and ole TAR ,well it aint gonna happen.just gonna sit here and drink my coffee and smile at the knowledge you have about the dogs of yesteryear.now you see why there are only hits from the subject and no replys.i just sit back and smile about the good ole days and the dogs that were honest coon hounds.
Richard keep on poking the bear! lmao

I spent thousands of dollars with shrinks, having them explain to me how my wifes perception of things is reality to her. Example would be I made her a Birthday Cake and she thought I didn't care about her Birthday because I didn't make the cake pretty enough. In the old days. I would say shut up and eat the cake. Shrinks said I have to say. Sorry honey but I will do better next time. I will be the first in line to say she as some messed up perceptions but it they are real to her. I have to deal with it.
The same goes for Tar. Guess you could say he has a lot of perceptions about things. They have become reality to him and we have to deal with it. I will say that Tar's wanting to argue with himself from time to time on here. Enters into a side of psychotherapy I was never exposed to. In other words. I don't have a clue what that is about. Anyway with fast eddy around I don't think tar will have time to argue with himself for a while. LOL
