Treed
Under the canopy is no where in the rule. It states showing sufficient tree. A dog is allowed to come off a tree and go back and show sufficient tree. Rules are misunderstood and people think they were cheated. All dogs do dumb things at times but if they come off a tree and put their nose on the ground they should be minused. If a dog is truly ready for the hunts it will go strike a coon run it to a tree and tree it without help. If it won't it is not ready for the hunts. For a person to be ready for the hunts they must know the rules, their dog, and not be soft. In life we learn that we are not always a winner. We sometimes get so caught up in ourselves that we miss details.

Where do you find a rule that says if a treed dog puts their nose to the ground, they should be minused?
Minus strike and tree
Did not say under the canopy was in the rules . i was told by a very good source that was on the cast that ukc used that to make a big name in ukc stud owner happy. So he would not get minus on a tree and not be the winner of a big hunt and not pull his hou ds out of ukc.

Correct
The rule doesn't state that, although it does state at judges discretion. I guarantee you if a dog comes off the tree and puts it's nose on the ground it's getting minused.

Minusing someone’s dog for coming off the tree a short distance when the cast is walking in is not how I want to win a cast. If that is what it takes for me to win that night I don’t want the win.
