also like bryan link said life is to short to hunt junk dogs and don't be afraid to cull and move on.
I'm going to agree with you joey I think he did get confused. He hunts and hunts hard he just misses on the tree. I'm taking him out this week with a friend that has a lot more dog experience than I do to help me get him back on track if possible. I'll update progress as it comes if it does.

First night of school wasn't to bad. First drop slick treed got him off the tree then he couldn't figure it out we caught him went to another spot cut him lose less than 5 minutes he had a coon in a tree.

when he trees slick tie him back load your rifle and act like you shoot a coon out then cut him loose he will look hard for that coon he thinks you just shot and will restrike it and eventually will tree it

That is a good idea Chaz that's thinking outside the box. Tonight second night, out and back in less than an hour first tree he had the coon shot it out to him then went home I didn't want to give him a chance to slick tree I want to keep everything as positive a possible.
