5(b) taking precedence in the case of off game, has been around forever rob.
By the time a dog makes nt.ch. he should have been hunted and trained enough off game shouldn't even cross his mind. I guess that's part of the reasons why there is way more nt.ch. than there should be! Dogs that won't hunt,or tree by themselves, babbling idiots, ill, off game , but if we find a loophole it's ok!!! Not at my house!

Should at very least take a strike minus for quiting it's track period !!
Propose a rule change.
Its a fine line between making one that will not come in after you get there and one that refuses to back another dog.

No but if you don't catch it early can cause thyroid problems.
rule change
Why is a slow dog minused when a coon is seen it would make more sense to me if strike points were deleted. He/she did their job just to slow.
If that sucker is so slow it's gets there after the other have been treed there a while and even so slow that it gets there after I do it's gonna get more than a minus from me !!! Either get there quick or don't be there at all !!
Are they slow or just don't have enough nerve to stay with the dog treed until their handler gets there to protect them?
Why would anyone worry about someone else's dog that came in late and didn't get any tree points? Most of the time they get mad at their dog for treeing slick and getting minused. So they look for a reason to minus the other dogs that wouldn't tree on their dogs slick tree. Maybe we should worry more about our dog and less about everyone else's dog
Richard the post was started about a dog coming in late to a tree with a possum in it ! If you are going to minus a dog for coming in late to a coon what in the crap you gonna do reach down and pet your dog and say it's o Tay fee fee it's only a possum you will be o Tay if that don't beat the hen a pecken lol !!
What it started as and where it went are 2 different things.
If someone wants to pet "their" little Fey Fey for coming in late then that is their business and doesn't bother me at all. I am too worried about what my dog is doing.
So what your saying is (in theory I love theories ! ) if you have been winning the cast all night and ole fee fee has just been hitch hiking along getting points the last tree of the night no time left it's a possum and ole fee fee comes strolling in you are minused or scratched ole fee fee is winner winner chicken dinner now tell me your honest emotions Richard are you going to be able to congradualate and mean it lol !!
In that situation, I would be too mad at my own dog and busy correcting him to worry about Fey Fey. I would congratulate Fey Fey's handler on winning later. Lil Fey deserved to win because I didn't do my job and break my dog from treeing possums. That is my fault, not Fey Fey's. I sure wouldn't want to change a rule that has been around since the beginning of comp hunting just because "I" was too lazy or unable to break my dog from treeing off game.
Any dog handled at a closed tree should recieve minus strike points regardless of anything else. Any dog handled at an offgame tree, under NtCh rules, should be scratched. Simple as that.

That's the way I feel to Jim.
But they aren't. I wonder why?
Because just like the no leash lock change the red dog guys voted against it lol.
Jim, if you want to minus the dog that comes into the tree after the tree is closed and the judge is there, are you going to plus the points if a coon is seen for that same dog? You can't have it both ways, if you're going to minus then you need to plus the points.
