-- Bright moon. (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928479459)

Full moons I tend to run into yotes and poor tracks, nothing fresh like the coons hadn't been down yet. And tend to avoid the full moon nights.
I was out on Sunday with 2 friends. Made three drops.
1st drop dogs were not finishing tracks and crossed 2 roads and got up by a house so we caught them. One guys dog run three deer in a circle almost back to where we dropped them.
2nd drop we let them go into an adjoining woods but we changed some dogs up. Mine ended up crossing the road again going into the first bush and treeing, he missed the coon by 3 trees.
3rd drop we cut and dogs struck right off the road and went in and messed around in some pines then started back to us and treed on the field edge with 2 coons up.
My male seemed to handle the night better than my female but they are still young. [/QUO

I'm glad some one is honest!

Nice and light last night, we didn't need a light walking through the field. The dogs treed one coon and we went home. My husband worked as an aide in a mental hospital, he said u could alwaYs tell it when it was a full moon. Think it probably effects some animals, too.
Are ya kidding me Hobo?

I think it depends more on what part of the country you live in. Here in Va it doesn't bother them near as much as it does in Indiana. The coon in Indiana don't move much at all with a bright moon.

How many years did it take you to see this light? LOL I guess the proof was in the pudding (or the middle of the road) as the case may be last year huh? LMAO

My old dog treed a coon last night but it took her until 3:30 this morning to put one up.
I normally don't have any trouble with lit nights. I typically enjoy hunting when I don't need a light to walk.

Yep Brian we sure did..I can remember times we shined longer to find the coon when we were younger.just so we could go home with one..I'm not gonna shine for 5 minutes then walk off...we had nothing but time on our hands🙂

There's a bunch of factors for treeing coons on full moon/moon lit nights here. And I'm sure everywhere. But here's a few to think about.
1 Cloud cover
2 how many predators are in the area you're hunting
3 Coon population
4 Type of dog you hunt ( nose power )
5 how much drive and hunt the dog has you hunt
My female isn't the best dog but not the worst. She can tree coon on any given night. Just some nights she feels like messing with trash, or doesn't feel like hunting her guts out to find a coon. Just some food for thought.
We treed coon all weekend with a full moon. Hunted 3 all nighters and we treed plenty of coon on the outside.
two year old pups. one heck of a deer race . burned it up for 2 hours and bayed it in the river . deer gave em more than they bargained for .lol after being whipped out pups went on to tree a coon where they were collected for the long walk back to the truck . full moon naw just pups full energy . lol
I have hunted with some of the best in the country multiple dogs that have over 60thousand won and so forth but a bright moon-lit night shouldnt make a difference and does not to them! I have heard a lot of old-timers say they never have had any luck on moon-lit nights.. I have seen many and have one right now, that will bust that country & find one to put up a tree!! no matter what the weather conditions if you don't think yours is able to tree a coon in any situation, then why would you own it? some nights mine don't look that sharp but they will have their off-nights, a moon-lit night has never made any difference to me.. just my opinion.. thx for reading.

I have already warned you boy's there are zombies , werewolf's ,creepers out here, also more dogs get run over on full moon nights than any other.
