i think a lot of it has to do with what kind of handler you are. if you get to the tree and pet the dog before you look up,if you get the squaller out before you find the coon,if your accurate dogs in the past start slicking more as they get older, if you never kicked your dog off a tree and found the coon after you kicked him off,if ya make the excuse the coon could be there somewhere , i guess by now you can see were i am going with this. if you are this handler than your better off with dog B
Dog b might make a coondog but it sounds like dog a wont be much more than just a treedog. Mediocre.
I agree with the guy that mentioned age. So much depends on age. Pups learn and improve as they mature. If they are both less than 2 years old they may both make great dogs.
