I haven't looked but it sounds familiar. This is setting up a dif purse only for grand nites tho. And dif entry fees. That's not the same thing. Is it ?

What about the sentence on special instructions, wouldn't that cover it?

I never bothered to look about prizes but like I said I thought if they changed something in the format they would have posted it.

I agree Grntchs need somthing. Buuuuut right now on a $20 entry fee all you send ukc is $2 so Grntch hunt $30 club gets $5 and has to furnish a guide unless they have one that wants to hunt that has a Grntch I think as time goes on the super slams are going to grow if I had a Grntch that's the way I would go or if your wanting to hunt for $$$ hunt in the $$$ hunts least you would get credit for what you win.

There's your answer! Someone put their heads together and came up with a plan that they hope will draw more dogs to their hunt. Instead of the club taking that extra money they are giving it back to the hunters. Bet they bank on selling a few more burgers and fries. Kudos to the greencastle club!

Ok Allen here it comes I disagree :

Why because if you start this if you got a small club that struggles to get guides anyway and 4 to 8 Grntchs show up wanting to hunt for $$$ and you have nobody to guide or judge them and the moh has to try and settle their disputes Its opening up a can of worms it should be that if the club is going to do this if it's not advertised ahead of time then the clubs not responsible for having it. Just need some boundrys set in place. Respectfully tar.

Than don't do it if you don't have the guides.

Not good to turn people away when they show up it needs to be advertised ahead of time if the club is going to sponsor this or is it hunting judges or non hunting on hunt dirrector you have to have a panel we are the ones going to have to deal with it needs more thought.

Posted by rob thompson on 01-08-2017 02:41 PM:

And what happens to the money if it's a dead cast? Does it go to the club? Remember in ukc you have to have plus to win. Or are we changing some rules too?

Posted by tpettit on 01-08-2017 03:59 PM:

It's the same as the rest of the hunt. Hunting judge, moh or hunt director will settle any questions. As far as payouts, every cast winner will receive cast win money but only the high score dog will win the Ukc performance money. I can't remember what we talked about to do with the money if no cast winner. I call Doug and put it on here for you guys. And for the ahead of time advertise, we did in the upcoming events in the bloodlines. Of you look coatsville, indiana has it in there right now for a hunt in February.

I say if a cast doesn't come in with plus points then put that money into a Jackpot and at the next hunt just make it an added purse deal. That would really draw a big crowd in and plus ppl that's gonna hunt will them wanna guide even more. Or just pay the guides

If the club is gonna advertise a money prize I guess they better have guides in place. They can judge themselves. If its not advertised as one who is gonna show up to hunt it?
Just wondering.

I guess tbe club can do whatever they want with the clubs money. Great deal for the hunters but it won't work for a small club. That money normally pays the power bill or the insurance.

I like it but the secretary at the club won't lol

How is that money used for the power bill when they are already paying it with what money they make off other hunts. Adding the Grandnites will only be a win win for the local clubs. As it's extra money they wasn't getting

Just got off the phone with Doug. We will give the money back to the hunters reguardless of plus points. So it would then be the highest non-plus point cast winner. just remember you can't win first place and receive performance money without plus points. Heres the thing guys, no grands come typically so even if you get 4dogs to show, that's 4 more people that came to your club. This is a really good idea to get the grands more involved at the local level. We all wanna see this sport go on!!

Yes !!!!

Oh lord Grntchs are getting paid for a possum now wake me up from this nightmare.

This is not a Calcutta. A Calcutta is a pot on the side, all cast winners receive money here.
