I appreciate it fella's, he's been a fun pup to get started and I can only imagine how fun he's going to be when he matures. If anyone has any other video's of G-man pups I would love to see them. Thanks again for the compliments on him.
My little buddy was on point last night, took me longer to find the coon than it did for him to tree it.
Here is Bo on a big tree last night. He's been turning it on the last few weeks. I'm not sure who that pup is with him but I think it's a Jeb pup that Shane Maxey raised.

Maxx was more open last night than he ever has been, normally he might strike 1 time before he locates and tree's but last night he struck in and ran it a couple hundred yards before he located and treed. He probably barked 5 or 6 times on track. All in all it was a good night, since I didn't have my female for backup I knocked this one out dead. Needless to say he acted a little disappointed when he ran over to it and it didn't move, but I grabbed it and started shaking it and he got him excited over it.
Maxx had a pretty good Friday night, he got his first correction for running a deer. Then I turned him out on a creek and after him and my female ran track for a minute he finally slowed down and treed on a hollow tree leaning over the creek. Couldn't see anything in the hollow but you couldn't see all the way in there.
I finally got a video of his locate.
Carried Maxx last night cut him with my female and he went maybe 150yds and came back so I put him in the box. My female treed about 450yds with a coon. Cut them again and my female opened first but Maxx snuck in there about 250yds and treed first. He wasn't on the tree he was treed on a vine that went into a pine tree where the coon was. I think Im going to start taking him more maybe 2 or 3 times a week instead of once a week.
Nice!

They drove this one in about 500 yards and treed, he could have done a little better at first on the tree but once he calmed down he started treeing like he should.
Well the kill season came to a close in Ga last night and of course all we treed were den tree's but Maxx looked good. First cut was on a wma, Maxx and my female went around 800yds struck a track on the other side of a lake and treed on a tree leaning out over the lake. When we got to the tree my female was at the edge of the lake treeing and maxx was out as far as he could go in the tree treeing every breath. I guess the coon swam the lake and got away. We went to some private land and cut 4 dogs loose, Maxx and my female drove a track probably 700 yards and fell treed while the other dogs keep running track around them. Maxx stayed put for probably 45min and was hammering every breath but of course it was a hollow tree. I guess its time to start hunting him with some other well mannered tree dogs because he wasn't too sure about the other dogs coming into there tree. He never showed any aggression but would run up to them and get in there face and then go back to treeing. I cut me a switch once my buddies dog started treeing and every time Maxx looked at the other dog I would pop him in the side of the face and he would quit looking at the other dog and go back to treeing looking straight up like he should. After a couple adjustments he was treeing right beside the other dogs and never payed them any attention.
Glad to see that you have recuperated from Southern Redbone Days. Maxx is probably just being a pup. He should mature out of it if you let him know that is not acceptable behavior. I am sure that Winnie has told him that It isn't polite to get in her face.
He knows not to bother Winnie since they have been room mates for the last month or so and eating sleeping and riding in the box together.
You left to early Tuesday Blake and missed all the fun. Red was pulled off the tree at 5 am with a coon. Lol he flat got his excersize. Winnie and pup looks good. Maybe see at PKC hunt tonight.
Well after a little period of not wanting to hunt by himself he finally got the message that he could either stay at the house or go tree a coon. I took him and my female last night and cut my female twice and drove as close as possible to her and just left him in the box while I walked to the tree and made sure to praise her real well on the tree and when I got back to the buggy. I finally cut him he shot in there and slammed a big den tree, hopefully he's getting the message.
Back on track for the moment. Cut loose and no hanging around or wanting to play he shot in about 300yds located and tree'd with the meat. Hopefully as he gets older he will start to open on track a little better.
The meat
Still a lot of pup in him but he's getting the picture. No standing around wanting to play struck a track and drove it 400 yds and treed. The coon looked 1 time and never would look again. He will be 11mths old on the 8th
Well Maxx was a year old last Monday, it has been a pleasure getting him started and keeping him progressing. I have been hunting him 2 or 3 nights a week and he keeps getting better and better. I took him over to Alabama a couple weeks ago and he looked pretty good went probably 700yds and split from the other 2 dogs and had a coon. I hunted him with a buddies 15mth old walker and he opened located and treed with the other dog running track all around him. He never moved, the other dog ended up coming to him. Hunted him last Friday, I had to go pick him up off the hyw about 900yds from where I cut him. Turned him loose again and he bayed up a baby deer. After a training lesson I cut him again he went 400 yds and treed with the meat. I truly believe this pup is enjoying it because he hasn't had a coon knocked out to him since Feb 2 and he's still progressing. If he looks good this week his comp career is going to start this weekend.
Training tool
Plus him up
Season has started back and its time to get him rolling
He has come a long way at a young age...keep up the good work!

Pretty proud of this pup, he looked like junk Wed and Thur night but we finally got him to eat Thur night after the hunt and he started looking decent. We ended up 4th reg Friday night and 3rd reg and high scoring red male for Sat night of NRD and got to bring a little hardware home
Well deserved man. Maybe it was that cow 💩 that fired him up. You can thank me later.
