The federal government hasent been able to get that to work in 200 years. And besides lets face it most comp hunters are walker people. Wed just have 50 walker reps votin for rule changes. Is it really that bad to join a assoc for 20 to 30 dollars? To show you care about somethin? To help. To better your breed. Or atleast put in ur input to the breed rep? You get a breed book in return that cost that much to make. A single entry fee cost that much. In my honest opinion if thats how u feel i could care less how u wanna vote. Even tho i have nothin to do wit it. Thats like sayin all the illegal aliens should be able to vote for president.

I don't know if state reps are the answer but it def be better then the system currently used. There's a lot at stake to changing these rules and it shouldn't be left to anybody to decide that isn't in the upper echelon of this sport. If you doubt that ask anyone who comp hunted 30 years ago how often they seen a dog babble off the chain. They give them the min to bark on every drop .....now look what we got !!!

GA DAWG, exactly how do you propose to get in touch with all the breed hunters in a state? The only way I can think of is having a membership list from the different breed associations. That means you need to belong to a breed association. Maybe you need to join and go to the breed association for the breed you hunt and run for the breed representative for your breed. My next question is if you're the breed rep and the membership votes against a rule you like are you going to vote the way the membership wants or what you want?

Amen. But thats alot of work. To gain respect of the membership to get voted on and win. To only turn around and just ignore what everyone expects of u and just do ur own thing

What does the color of a dog have to do with whether or not a rule change is good or bad for the sport ? Really ?

your exactly right Donnie.
I'm thankful that we have good stewards of the sport making these decisions based on what they feel is the best for the future of our hounds and have the wisdom and the balls to not give in to pressure from the majority.

Not the color. But breeds arent the same. If u do a bunch of rule changes geared towards how a walker dog hunts. Then whats the use of any other breed to compete. Each breed would have to breed theyre dogs that way.

A hunter should not have to pay 30 to have a voice. I wonder how pkc makes it work but our federal government can't lol. This is not about being like pkc though. It's about people not knowing. I can guarantee you most all local hunters everywhere don't even know anything about breed associations. They do not travel off to any hunts. They don't care. The backbone of this sport is your local hunters and coon clubs. NOT breed reps. You never see any breed reps reaching out to try and get memebers ant any small hunts either. Why?

I do all the time. Every sanctioned hunt i go to. No matter how small. And how can some one that wont spend a time of day to volunteer gunna preach bout somethin about what someone needs to do. Ur still not gunna help. And still gunna complain. As for pkc i dunno. I dont participate in that. But what i do kno bout it is that at a local club here theres a guy tryin to start pkc hunts. Organizes the hunt at the club house, that makes theyre money from ukc hunts to pay the bills, and no one shows up. So he goes home. So from that experience what u said makes no sense.

I've never seen it in 25yrs. Do you carry applications with you so every breed there has an option to join one or just pull bluedog people to the side?

Appblue- if any of your comments about volunteering to help clubs do things are directed at me or being a computer coonhunter, here is my resumee- club officer several times since '70's, 12 years as BBOA Zone 3 sec/treas. & 4 years as BBOA national sec/treas. If some of my posts you don't agree with, that's fine, but figured I have earned the right to express them. Have a nice evening. Take care, Ron.

People behind the scenes volunteering, guiding, and being active are what keep this sport alive. They should have a vote on rule changes same the competition hunter who does nothing but go to the hunts. If it effects all, then all should vote. Basic democracy.

Well when it comes to the rules that govern our hunts and the dogs that are produced because of those hunts, I sure hope that's NOT the case

Charles would you like a written Resume ? I went to the school of (turn ur light off I cant hear my dog ) or (son go get them dogs while I wait at the Truck) , (here son carry the gun , now let me have it you cant see the coon ) my favorite school was (you carry the hides and I will give you a $1.00 for every one you carry out ) and he was getting $30 to $50 a piece ,, Hahahahaha

and some of Y'all are getting a bit excited about the small things in Life , I think we are shrinking in the youth of today, rule change will not effect our dogs, People will , and People can effect the future of our sport by supporting the youth , find a neighbor hood kid bring him to a hunt , exposing kids to this is so important without them we have no future sport , because some of us are getting old and fat

I couldn't disagree more! And I do believe that a huge percentage of hunters that regularly attend ukc hunts that keep ukc' s and the local clubs pockets with a little money in them are not members of a breed organization. Those of us that are have no idea how our reps are voting. The way things are now you have 14 people who are "representing" thousands that hunt in hunts the majority who are not members of any of the 7 breed organizations and never attend a breed hunt but are the bread and butter for UKC and the local clubs.
