Hiding it won't help.
gotta pay the money to lobby for our right to hunt.
Just like the anti's pay the bucks to lobby to take it from us.

!

Guys Matt's a good guy just trying to help , an I'm sure he didn't want to open a can of worms!! However he is right in the fact that ,we need to use more appealing methods to show our love for this great sport!! As sportsmen we need no trouble just a woods to hunt a good hound an in my case a can of chew! Times are different now with multi media methods !

I wouldn't worry bout none of that guys. Keep Rollin them out its your right. The conservation will handle it. God will take this sport away before anyone will. What we need quit doing is bickering at the hunts about someone or something someone did. That's gonna kill this sport before anything. What goes around will come around crazy fact of life.

It will be no guns and loss of places to hunt at.

Its not about bowing down to anyone, it about understanding the image we portray, and winning over those who are undecided about hunting. Animal rights activist wont be changing there minds, but there is a large part of the public that is undecided and As long as we portray ourselves as scum of the earth trailer trash, beer drinking, violent, blood thirsty houndsmen, we won't be winning over any fans. However if we portray ourselves as a group of ethical hunters with strong morals, love for the outdoors, big supporters of local, state and national conservation efforts, intelligent, passionate about our breeds and game, the catch and release of the hunting world, etc... we will be able to raise a lot more awareness, publicity, and win over many of the non hunting public.

I would think even its ok to portray pictures of the kill. Some won't appreciate it, but its part of the sport. I think the issue is in the fight. Dog vs coon. Its exciting but its not really good for our dogs now that we know about coonhound paralysis in the public's eye its probably not very ethical, and certainly isn't good for the coon.

I think though we shouldn't be apologetic for harvesting game. The conversation needs to be had, that our food does come from somewhere. That sacrifice is required for us to survive as a human race and even though we don't see the slaughter of the animal anymore when we go to the grocery store. It doesn't mean an animal didn't give its life so that we may have food. This disconnect is the reason I believe the anti hunting movement has grown in popularity. The disconnect between our society and the natural world is so distant, that people forget where there food is coming from. There is something to be said, about a human providing for himself and his family through the means of harvesting game. Its tangible, its healthy, its an honor. I'm sure were pretty much on the same page, just thought I would extrapolate on the subject.

Hows that working for us? That easy going houndsman deal? Most of are that way and have been that way most our lives. We have not won anybody over. Crap we cant even win any deer hunters over.
