Robert, I'm sorry for your loss, but , as you know, that's coon hunting. You're in good coon country, someone there has a dog you can buy that will "do" until you can find what you want. Tom

I know how you feel. Lost the best dog I ever hunted behind Halloween night. He ran a stick through his chest. Freak accident. Cried for 2 days. Don't give up buddy.

From one coon hunter to another, I'm glad you didn't throw in the towel. I've never had the misfortune that you had with your dog and I hope I never do but I know it's always a chance we take when we cut one loose. Your friend did a great thing in sending that dog with you. Be thankful for a friend like him. Good luck!

if it ever does break , its 8 degrees here now and they are saying below 0 by day break and more snow the first 3 days of this coming week , dang el-nino is rough , dogs will be rusted to the kennel before any good weather rolls in it looks like ..

Sorry

Really hate to hear this for anyone it is tough to deal with, they say everything happens for a reason, sometimes I don't understand it but I do believe God has a plan for all of us. Wish I knew how to post videos on hear I was taking a little one of my female & a 10 month old male I'm hunting when this happened, I was lucky to be at the tree or I think my female would have got killed at that tree, a stick slipped under her color, the probably would have been strangled right there. Keep your chin up sounds like you have some good friends that got your back

I have to drive by the spot where one of my dogs got hit on the road. I then start thinking of other dogs that have be hurt or killed. Then I start worrying about the dogs I have with me and before long I'm wondering if I want to keep doing this. But I realize I have to do so Some thing and I don't want to start anything new at my age. So here I am kinda wishing I'd gotten into some other hobby.

dogs

iam content with what I do! love this sport ! so many rds here where I live if I would give a lot of thout about turning one loose and getting run over I wouldn't be able to hunt! Had several run over and I just keep going. part of hunting. when ya turnem loose just don't know whats gonna happen!! Good thing we don't have snakes! that I know of mostly garder snakes. that's a plus.

Hunt

Now that is good news! I am very pleased that you had a good hunt - get knocked down and got back up. You can not hold a good man down ( not long ). Robert everyone that hunts has some bad luck with dogs at some point in their hunting career. I know that I have lost some dogs ( run over ) that put a hurting on me. Good to see you bouncing back my friend! May you have many more blessed hunts in the future. Dave
