Gone are the days where all 4 dogs are on every tree and you are cutting loose again with open strike. Been this way in PKC for years, It looks like UKC is starting to get there as well. Good deal as far as I am concerned.

It aint gone. You see scores at Oaks? Wait till orangeburg rolls around. Big scores will be back. A couple things keeping scores low at world hunt..Has a world hunt ever had a huge score for a win?

None of those are elimination style events.

Can this be true? I see where they even had one dead cast. Do you mean that 3 of the Top 20 coonhounds in the world can't tree a couple of coons in 2 hrs in the coon capital of the world? I also heard that the dogs that advanced weren't the dogs that treed the coons. Of course I wasn't there so this is just hearsay, but I heard that the 2nd tree dogs were the ones that ended up winning the casts. Can this be so? What in the world was going on up there last night? What will they do if they have a dead cast tonight in the Final Four?

Take it easy on him guys, we all know this kind of thing happens at almost every hunt. Dog tracking, cover dogs with fast handlers with nothing to lose beat true coondogs every nite. I know from experience how frustrating it can be to get beat by a dog that never treed a coon. Im sure the guys that were sent home this weekend by those kind of dogs are sick over it. Is it really that unreasonable to think one or two of those dogs could make it to the finals?

I wasn't there Fri night. I was just commenting on how tuff the conditions apparantly were. When you get down to the Top 25, everyone has a coon dog. But when the dogs that win most of those Top 25 casts only scores one coon it amazes me. I wasn't saying that they aren't all nice dogs either. And I am not upset about getting beat or jealous. I got beat by a dog that treed two coons during hunt time while mine only had one. We did make 9 trees and walked from tree to tree all night. The times they are a'changing. Dogs are not like they used to be. And, oh my goodness, can't a guy have a lil fun without everyone wanting to whup him? After all, this is the interweb. Isn't it supposed to be for entertainment? Some of y'all need to take a deep breath. I just hope that the Final Four tree a couple of coon.

Ask 99% of the people that get beat. Their dog treed all the coon, should have won, blah blah blah.

My guess is that Richard is one of those people

Did I just read that. I would have to say that could possibly be the dumbest thing I have read today. Everyone of those hounds in the finals deserves to be there. They have won their cast, went and treed a coon on their own and won again. For anyone to say they won the cast and not tree a coon is a fool.

Good luck to everyone tonight and congratulations to everyone who was there.

I wasn't there but I was also wondering why the scores were low. Hunted in Flora at black and tan days several years ago and placed 3rd and 4th Grand Night both nights with scores in the 500's. I wondered if something had happened to the coon population there or something else. I never thought it was because of lack of dog power that the scores were low. Full moon, dry conditions, and a lot of split treeing does explain it.
