There's to major types of people in this country: 1. Those that are in favor of big government 2. Those that want the power to go back to the states.
This is what the civil war was really all about! Yes, Lincoln turned his war effort over slavery. But, for the average Southerner, it was over the states independence over the federal government! 90+% of the Southerners didn't even own a slave!
The union soldiers for the most part wasn't fighting over slavery either, they we're fighting to preserve the union! Both sides had noble causes, but for us Southerners, the "Lost Cause" for our southern independence remains deeply imbedded in our minds. We still want more state rights, and less governmental oversight. That's why the Confederate flag must remain flying high in the sky! Because its a reminder to our nation that if you keep pushing us too far, when we've had enough, we'll start pushing back!

Doesn't work or they wouldn't stay in for 40+ yrs. Set real term limits and they would have to work for us because they would have to work for a living when their terms were up.

term limits are needed to make up for voter apathy. if voters were as educated and aware of current issues as they should be then we wouldn't be talking about term limits. they would, as you say, limit terms with their vote. but they are not and never will be. our government is designed so that we can elect representatives to work for us so that we don't have to take the time to study the details of each and every issue. we are busy making a living and expect our representatives to take care of business. but they don't and now issues are so complex and distorted by the media, the voter is confused as to what they should vote for.

What's needed is for American to change her way of thinking! Instead of this gimme, gimme socialistic & welfare society that we live in. If people will get their heart and mind right, the clear choice for a candidate is evident. But term limits are good, because they work as the people's checks and balances. IMO. But term limits are only a bandage to the overlying problem, the American voter! Obama got voted in twice, whose fault was that? Harry Reed had to retire because he kept getting Reelected. Why? The people kept voting him in. What makes us think, realistically, that term limits will fix the problem? The people that I described earlier will keep voting these bozo's in to office when the others are term limited out. ITS A VOTER PROBLEM IN AMERICA!

Iv finally decided the majority of the public just plain can't think for themselfs. And they watch to much tv and they're heads get filled with all this crap. And soak it up. Hollywood's way of controllin the masses. They vote for whoever got imprinted the most on em.

This might be somewhat off topic, and the statistics I am using are off the top of my head, and may not be 100% accurate, but they will be close. If America is only made up of about 3% gay, 14% African-American,5% muslim and 1% atheist, how in the heck do they protest, riot, scream and yell, to whoever will film them, or interview them, and all of the sudden, America is the worst country in the world, and something must be done to change it, and I'll be danged if America is being transformed, right before our very eyes? In my opinion, the asylum is starting to be run by the patients!

At some point in the very near future, the people who truly care about this country and her long term survival are going to have to take a stand and say, no, scream at the top of our lungs,enough is enough. We are letting the minority voices trample over our rights and we just sit back and take it. How can less than 15% of the population of this country control what the other 85% does? There is something terribly wrong and will only get worse if we let it. Maybe impeachment referendums need to be started by the people for all their state and federal officials who refuse to man up and quit being bullied by the politically correct crowd. They do it right or they're gone ! It amazes me how Washington has brainwashed so many intelligent people with their free giveaways that are breaking the backs of the ones who are paying. Its almost like taking candy from a baby. We whine and pout but soon forget and then they hit us again. My home states flag is just inches from being taken down and replaced by who knows what. Screw the ones that don't like it. they can go to California or New York. How far will we bend before we fight back ? The government should learn a lesson from us hound hunters, you produce or you're culled! Please talk to all your friends and family about the importance of next years elections. One more term under liberal lack of leadership just may be the straw that breaks the camels back. I for one will help hold this great country up. Will you ?

Well what started out as a simple question has grown into far more of a topic than I expected,which I ain't complainin' one bit,what thrills me more is we're all on the same page & agreein' or agreein' to disagree w/o a bunch of name callin' or actin' like cry babies .... could this be how our fore fathers started out makin' this nation the way it began? And could be again,somethin' ta think about my fellow patriots.

My home state switched gears in a good way with this last election. Our new gov is Larry Hogan. And so far so good with everything I hear so far. One HUGE problem tho. He just came out with cancer. And by the way our last gov I hear is runnin for president. Avoid this disease of a mini Hitler Martin omaily.

Confederate Flag

Today is a very sad day for all of us who had relatives go off to war to protect the Ole North State. Large majority of the men who fought and died during this terrible war were farmers. Nearly 30,000 men from North Carolina(more than any other Southern state) gave their lives during the War of Northern Agression. I will be flying my flag at half mast for the next 48 hours in their honor. It clearly is heritage not hate for me and the majority of others, but that doesn't matter a lick to the politically correct crowd that's taken over our great country.

I would really like to know what has happened to SC? GA? This must be seriously a blow to a majority of them? Will Mississippi be next? Our Arkansas state flag has similarities to the Confederate flag, who knows, they might end up changing it too. Our Senator, a republican, whom I agree with 99% of the time, agreed with removing the Confederate flag from the SC capital lawn. I simply don't get it!

We here in Ga had ours removed yrs ago. Least ways the rebel flag part of it. It was removed because of a liar politician we elected as gov. Low down miserable scum. We didnt have a say at all. We voted him out and never got a chance to get our old flag back BUT the one 75% of Ga voters voted to put in place of the ugly blue one forced on us is also a confederate battle flag. We been flying under the radar with it a while but I hear rumors again. Its the cesspool of Atlanta that is the problem with Ga. Thats the only place other than a few smaller cesspools but we could take em easy if it came to it. I think it will all hit a booking point here if and when they try to force pur southern heritage off of stone mountain. Its coming to I think. Same way in SC those good ol boys didnt stand a chance. It was the elected officials of a fewthat did it. Trust me. If any states have the erebel flag flying high as part of anything now. They are coming after it. It will be soon to.
