We can run in MA all year VT training starts june 1 kill season end of September start of OCT MA and VT.
It can be flat or hilly river bottoms with the farms are flat. Then you have the berkshires MNTS in MA Green mountains in VT. We have alot of old rds everywhere though so none of it is to bad if u know the woods. It is twelve hours with the stops for gas etc... from Bucks Its pretty nice country not VA though. Ur welcome to come anytime I like runnin hounds Id love for u to come and bring some dogs it would be fun

I live within a few miles of the apalachian trail (Long Trail) on the VT MA border

That isn't very far, it takes me 14 hrs to get to Wisconsin. The Appalachian trail goes right by Jason and Linkous's cabins. I wonder how long it would take me to hike up there? It sounds like you have a great place to have a "cabin hunt' the first of October. How cold is it up there then? -

Its New England 70 one min 0 the next!! LOL Average Id say 60 day 35 night. State forest has free camping shelters more or less big pole barns around one of them is some of the best runnin around so it would work pretty good. Ive walked LONG stretches of that trail nothing Id want to take part in that is a long walk.

Also if you come the first week of october I dont know if any of ya fish but the brook trout fishin is at its finest that time of year!! The mountains r colorful to

I just saw the newest Top 10 Sire Reproducers List and Moose has now produced 4 Nt Ch's and 1 Gr Nt Ch. He is also #2 on the Performance Point earners list. Just wait until all of these younger pups get old enough to go to a hunt.
