-- 1700 + points Walker days (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928415943)
I to have seen Bushwhacker in action, he beat me last year in the pup hunt at walker days, and I was huntin a decent young female. He had a coon every time he treed. I'm now planning on gettin a pup from the "respectable breeder" Duane is talking about. That score in that part of th country is very attainable, especially with a COONDOG and the right situations.

Congratulations TIC
2nd in the SS is more impressive than 1700 in a UKC hunt. Sounds like a nice young dog

who owns this dog and where does he live?

Would Bushwhacker be considered a Clover bred dog or Sackett jr. or Lipper bred dog.
I am not sure how many of these dogs are Clover bred after looking at his pedigree but seems to be more clover than anything else.
Who owns the dog and what state is he located in ?

First off I would like to congratulate Tick on his recents wins with Bushwacker. I own her mother and for those of you that have hunted with her know what she is. When I finished her to grand all her wins were with competition and her scores ranged anywhere from 1100+ - 1575+ and she scored over 1000+ in Pkc on 4 different occasions and scoring 900+ at the spring classic all in one woods cutting back in to running dogs. If I could have faulted her in anything she could have had a little more hunt but hunted hard enough to compete in different states with thin coon. When it the decision come to breed her the dog that produced Bushwacker I called John Gossett and explained to him what I wanted and he told me that he only knew of one dog he thought that could happen with and that was John Colsons Master It dog. So I started inquiring about him right away and although there was some negative here and there the overwhelming majority kept telling me what a coon dog he was so the decision was made to try it. I took two of them pups to Dean Miller from shippshewana and those of you that know him knows he's one of the best pup trainers in this country and Dean had him at his house until he was 8 months old and he told me to come get him as he was by far one of the best pups he ever started and if he was a female it would die at his house. I brought him home and hunted him two nights and called Tick and told him he needs to come hunt with me because he wanted something extra special that he could possibly stud out if he finished out to his liking. He hunted with him that night and said put him in my box. That fall before his 1st birthday he called me one night around the first week of Dec and it was -10 and the wind was blowing 20 mph and we had around 8" of snow on the ground and said lets go hunting. I told him your nuts to hunt in this stuff and he asked me if I'm scared and I told him challenge accepted and after two drops of gathering mind up without a bark and his sitting through the country on two outside coon one of them in a crotch covered with snow I told him I seen enough. It's funny I was telling someone about this hunt a few months ago and he laughed and said I seen his daddy do that when he wasn't quite a year old to. I take no credit for the breeding behind this dog but I can tell you some of the best coon dogs and reproducers in this breed are in this dogs pedigree on top and bottom and it's no fluke that he is what he is. Sometimes you can take the best and breed them together and get nothing but in this case the people that have hunted with him will tell Tick man he reminds me of so and so and the next guy will tell him he reminds him of a different one all ones in his pedigree. I don't own a hair on him but I'm here to tell you he isn't perfect but he's as nice of a young dog I've ever been with and most that have hunted with him will tell you the same thing. As far as him treeing coon where there thin let me just say he will show you hunting you didn't know excited. And that's not running edges or straight lining he is one of them that just seems to find that coon that others don't know are there. Tick is not afraid to show anyone him in the woods and most that come leave withe the same impression. As far as the final cast I spectated it and there were 4 den trees made Bushwacker had 3 first trees and the Molly female split once and had her coon on the outside and that just the breaks. She deserved to win walkers days. For the rumor that was started that it wasn't done right is ludicrous there were 14 of us out there call any of them and ask them and you will get the same response. Again just had to say this congrats Tick on your accomplishments and good luck with him in the future. For those of you naysayers there are two litters of pups on the ground out of him around 8 months old call and try buying one of them and you Prob aren't going to have any luck because of what they are doing.

Mr. Burks, I do not know you or your dogs, & not trying to stir anything, but I would have to say be careful what you wish for
Just because those coons are there does not mean any dog can tree them. Very few dogs out there that are capable of putting on a clinic like this Bushwhacker dog did. I've seen more dogs act like idiots in thick coon than not. You'll find out real quick if you truly have a layup dog as well. Seen a few who claimed to have layup dogs, only to watch them run underneath multiple coon sitting up.
Like I said, not trying to stir anything. Folks just need to get the illusion out of their heads that just because you hunt in Indiana or Ohio that every coon is an easy pop up & any old dog can tree them.
The ultimate is to have one that can put on a show in thick coon as well as get it done in thin coon. I don't think those kind are out there in bunches
Congrats to Tic & the Bushwhacker dog on a job well done!
Congrats Tic/Bushwacker
And you too Steve. Someone has to get the credit for making this cross. He's already won enough to prove he's not a 'one night wonder'. Be careful when & where you drop him because we all know the next turn loose could be the last one!! good luck in the future, too. Take care, Ron.
PS- With his ability & breeding behind him, get him cllected NOW before anything can happen to him. JMO after what happened to Spartan & saying I was going to get him collected, but never took the time to do it.
