Hunt #'s

Thursday was about the same as before- around 60 dogs.
Friday was 1st time to hit 100, since last time in Eldon- usually 70/85 dogs.
Saturday was about par for the weekend. I don't really understand the big drop-off every year!!! I know some drive home, but this year a lot of people from away stuck around. Bill Hubbard, Matt Turner, & John Gill from Ohio. Mark & your buddy from southern Illinois, sorry I don't remember his name, since he owns Scooters' dad. A good batch from western Missouri, Kansas & Ok.. I know everybody has a lot of other things going on, so thanks to everyone that hunted, showed or just came to check things out. Hope to see you again in the future. Take care, Ron.

This was a great event with lots of coon seen and lots of food in the kitchen, no one went hungry! Good prizes for the winners and really nice trophies. The help was great too, Robbie, Ron, Danielle too just name a few that dug in and helped me out a bunch. I never got much sleep or time away but I wanted everyone to enjoy this event. The bands that played Saturday were great too.

Coons did not cooperate with scoring but there were lots seen sitting up. Conditions were dry until a little shower saturday night helped out.

The members from Troy, Albia, Highland center and Sigourney clubs were awesome. I had over 15 extra guides on Friday night ready to take hunters and many more on saturday.

Although I judged the bench show Saturday and did an apprenticeship for obtaining my Master of hounds license, my camera did get used a little bit. I had a great time with friends and met some very nice friendly people from the great ladies in the kitchen to Mr. John Higgins who I apprenticed under (I enjoyed sitting around the clubhouse talking with him) Darren and the several clubs who helped out along with BBOA & BBCHA I personally say "Thank You" for a wonderful time.

Had a good time... Only regret is that I only got to hunt Friday night...

Mable and Oxy treed the biggest dang coon I'd ever seen... ( Zero was 600 yards away split on a big hollow cottonwood).

Robert and Darren weren't as impressed with the size of the coon as I was... Made my FL/GA/ALA coon look like squirrels................Hmmmm, maybe I been treeing squirrels all these years and just thought I had coon dogs
