It's easy for a white guy to say there is nothing wrong with flying the stars and bars...try looking at it through someone else's eyes...try looking at a swastika as a Jewish person...they don't see it the same.
As to the OP's original question...Ohio and Indiana are big coal states...our current president vowed that "anyone trying to operate a coal dependent business in this country would find it impossible"....that flag, whether you believe in it or despise it incites bad feelings in a lot of people.

I've read what you wrote and got me thinking maybe I shouldn't fly any flag in my yard. I mean I'm quarter Indian. Wonder what the native Americans feel about the stars and stripes. But I guess I'll keep flying since I decided to defend it and everything it stands for good and bad.

Doesn't bother me one bit. I see no problem in it. I personally feel that most the time certain groups of people have nothing better to do than complain about something so they can get on the news and get their 15 minutes of fame. Most of native Americans I hangout with think it's a joke that they want Washington to change their name. I can't change the name of my pool league team. It's called 4 redskins and john Wayne. I'm john Wayne. Lol. I just believe people should be able to express their American heritage good or bad it's our heritage. Heck in my hometown they changed the forth of July to heritage day cuz of Hispanics numbers pretty much out number the rest. Instead of hot dogs corn on cob and BBQ on the 4th we have tacos and burritos and listen to circus music now. It's **** shame.

We all see what we want to, for our own personal ideas and "causes." Few people look at things from both sides and that is a shame. Now we have another man killed at the hands of police in Baltimore. People are rioting in the streets in protest. This is wrong and it wont bring the man back. The news is calling the people doing all this rioting and looting "thugs." As are many people that watch this from the side lines. Now I have to ask you, if the police arrested your son and handed you back a dead corpse with no explanation...who would you consider "thugs" to be????

How can you not call them THUGS? The ones burning buildings and looting the stores could care less about the guy that died. I'm sure looting a liquor store is going to bring a dead person back to life. It's a shame that the police officers yesterday had to stand there and let those rocks and bricks be thrown at them and not defend themselves.

I agree, but are they the only thugs??? Which ones are worse, looters or murderers??? How can anyone not call the police thugs???? Especially in this case. I haven't followed this whole thing closely, but now that there is rioting and the National Guard has been activated more people are paying it some attention. I still see no straight answers as to why this character was arrested. All I can find is that he "made eye contact with a cop, or cops and ran." Then he was chased, caught and arrested {for what??? running???} and somewhere in the middle of all this his spinal chord was nearly severed. He died days later in the hospital. It is now being speculated {maybe correctly, who knows??} that his injuries were the result of him trying to hang himself. That brings up another question...how do you hang yourself, and with what in the back of a police van while handcuffed and feet shackled. Witnesses said the police had the guy bent nearly in half when they placed hi in the van.

Two wrongs don't make it RIGHT. We have a system set in place that if those cops did wrong they should be found guilty and pay for what they did.

That still doesn't justify the looters and thurgs doing what they did last night to that city.

Why does the White House send three representatives to the funerals of the guy from Ferguson, Mo. and the one that was just shot in Baltimore, both convicted felons, but they sent no one to the funeral of Chris Kyle?????

The whitehouse sent somebody to this last thugs funeral to? I didnt know that. The whitehouse wants things in turmoil. A race war would be right up their alley. Matter of fact. They are instigating it by sending folks to funerals like this and letting these riots get so crazy.

A bunch of us crazy red neck country boys from north ga. All ganged up and was looting bass pro shop. Burning beds bath and beyond and threw rocks, bottles, weedeaters at police. Then went around and bashed every person we saw that was not the same color as us.. Would we just get away with it? I think not. We would prolly be shot. Then say the kkk called for the killing of police officers. Would the people put up with that???? I dont see why not. They are putting up with it in reverse form now.

SELF INFLICTED INJURY

Just got in from hunting and a new story is coming out on the news. They say another prisoner said that Freddie Gray was throwing himself all over the transport van trying to injure himself on purpose. They believe the injury came at that time as they have video showing him standing and getting into the van. They say it would have been impossible to stand with a severed spinal cord. This is why NO COPS have been charged.

"They" say anything. The reason no cops have been charged yet is because either:

A. They didn't do it

or most likely:

B. The investigation is not yet complete..

BURNED ALIVE

Several months ago in North Mississippi a White Girl was doused with gasoline and set on fire and burned alive. No arrest have been made and I haven't heard of any rioting, looting, or burning the town down. In fact, unless you look it up you don't hear any updates on it. Awful things happen in this country everyday and if everytime things like this happened people got together and destroyed, we would be a Nation of homeless people. All of those Scumbags that are burning, looting, attacking cops and White Reporters and that say they are unemployed and its our fault need to be in the Military. They would learn things they apparently weren't taught at home, Pride, Respect, Honor, Responsibility, Honesty, Discipline.

Absolutely. I am all about this. Those that say they would not take action if their child was killed at the hands of the very people that are supposed to "protect" us and automatically be considered a "hero" just for putting on the badge seriously don't know what they would do until it happens to them.
I am not saying that what they are doing is right or excusable, but I will say that if my son was arrested for making eye contact and then running away, then handed back to me in a body bag.....I would do far worse than riot on some empty buildings. It wouldn't be right or excusable either, but you can best believe I would do it.
