That's not entirely true. Some dogs have dominate traits that come out in the worst of conditions. If a stud dog is fast and that trait is dominate in its genetics then it will produce fast dogs even on slower gyps. I've seen this happen myself. Don't give up on your gyp if you like her. Find a stud that is throwing go power and try it. Make sure you hunt with some pups out of that stud before you breed to it though. Everyone claims to have drive but very few have ever actually had it.

Wait on her, some flip a switch around 2 and start hunting harder, keep her alone and hunt her as much as possible. You can also try a higher octane food.
In the mean time get ya a pup out of a different line known for being wider hunters. You may end up liking that one better or end up liking your female better. In my opinion it's a lot easier to go buy another pup from a reputable breeder then it is to be a reputable breeder.

This is what i'm doing right now.The female is hunting harder,and going deeper to get struck.I'll decide at the end of the summer weather i want to breed a female that started hunting harder,later in life.Will depend on what the pup i bought is doing.

If she is as good as you say she is and you really like her I would breed her in a heart beat to a good accurate go hunting dog.I can't believe everybody is telling you not to breed her if you really like her you can breed the hunt in them.Breed her to Bone Collector or Trader or a Wipeout Dog and I can gurantee you they will go hunting.How is that going to put bad traits in them.I've done it before I know it works.
