I've got a 22 single shot I paid $25 for years ago, probably hauled it in the top of the dog box for close to thirty years. I don't need anything fancy to knock a coon out.

I've been using a Marlin Papoose for 25 years. Its very accurate and weighs only two and a half pounds.

I also have a Papoose. It is great. Very small lightwieght and has always been super accurate. my dad bought it at walmart in 1987 when I was 2 yrs old for 81dollars. It is the only 22 I have ever owned and if it keeps going it will be the only one I will ever need. I had never had a problem with it till this year. Started to not fire half the time and wouldnt eject shells or would eject but not put next in chamber. Talked to a buddy who knows guns and he asked me what ammo I had. Told him it was winchesters whatever I find when I need some I buy. He told me to get a different box of ammo and try so I got a box of thunderbolts out and working like a charm again. Cant believe I ever doubted the ole papoose. I also like that it has clips so its eay to load and unload at the tree. No worries about tripping in the dark with the gun loaded.
