It was nice meeting you too Stuffy. I hope we can hunt together someday.
I believe we may try and hit the woods tonight for an early drop or two. There is a local UKC hunt this weekend I think we may attend.
Don Simpson still has a pup or two availible off of Whip x Lady. They are 7 weeks old.

I talked with a local hunter yesterday who's female came into heat just day before yesterday. She is off of the Bo Jack x Peg cross. Jack and Peg's wins and accomplishments speak for themselves. The female Dee is a deep and alone type hound according to Scott her owner. She will be placed in the hunts as time allows. I'm excited to see how this outcross works with Whip.

Congrats to all who won their casts at the Zones last night! I'm feeling pretty sick right about now thinking that I need to be up there trying to get in the Top 100. But we will get our shot again next year to be qualified again! Good luck to everyone again tonight and Tree Blue!! Let's get our first UKC World NiteCh Bluetick!

Looking good Cory!! I hope the rest of the litter turns out as nice as that pup! I got the video of him treed but can't load it.
We bred the Dee female tonight. I'm pretty pumped up about this cross. There are several nice hounds in her pedigree and I think it will cross well on Whip.
If you are interested in a pup off of this cross, please feel free to send me a message or give me a call.

Congrats on the wins & the upcoming wedding. Take care, Ron.
Thanks Guys,
I've had alot of fun with ol Whip in these hunts. Back when he was just a pup my Fiance told me she thought he'd be special.
I'm trying to get him to 100%.. He's fallen into another slump with the Erlikia again and it just takes it all out of him... Another round of Doxicylin and some prayers that it will stay off of him for a while this time.. At least long enough to finish him to Grand.
For those that don't know what Erlikia is, It's a tick born disease much like Lymes. It cant be passed down or inheriated. Hopefully this dose will knock it out for good.

Took my Evil pup off of Whip x Joleen out with the big dogs last night and boy did I get a surprise. This was his first official trip to the woods since the litter just turned 4 months on the 14th. I figured he'd run around our feet and play like most do. Which he did most of the time. After he chased the big dogs around a while he came back to us and it wasn't long Whip was treed. I walked him into the tree and Whip had his coon. Evil smelled up a bit but never really treed. As we were trying to knock the coon out, a bad shot ends up making him bail out. Evil was in the right place at the right time and he was able to get behind the coon quick. These pups have had limited training and have never seen a coon before. 100 yards later Evil was hooked with the meat! I was one proud papa. I sure hope most all Whips other pups start like this!

How's everyones coon season been so far? We've had a tough first month dealing with crazy weather. Every other day it seems like its changing. We have managed to knock a few out though here and there.
Whip's been looking decent in the woods, but still isn't 100%. I'm remaining optimistic that he will be back to his old self with time. It's just going to take alot of time, patience, and encouragement.
He's still at stud here in South East Ga. I'd like to breed him to one more female. Free of charge just to see what he will reproduce. His First litter will be 5 months old on the 14th of November and I'm telling you, these pups are nice. Corey Hamby and Don Simpson are liking their's as well in North Carolina. Another litter is due to hit the ground in just a couple weeks as well off of the Dee female.
Thanks for the continued support of those who have purchased Whip pups and are giving them a sporting chance.

Just an update. The Dee female ended up only having 2 pups. Not sure if we caught her too early or too late but 2 was all she had. Going to be getting one of them myself.
I've put my Whip x Joleen pups through some tests and ive finally decided on the one whobis going to stay and that's the Evil pup. It was a close race but overall Evil had more of the qualities in a pup that I like to have. Saint will be going to a good home and I hope his new owner is happy with him.

Had a few good nights of hunting with some good friends this past weekend here in South East Ga. Tyler Shepard from Florida and Wayne Clarke from upstate South Carolina met in the middle here for some coon blasting. Over two nights of hunting, Whip went 5 for 8 with two circles and a slick. Overall, the hunting was fairly decent for a chilly 30 degrees and we were able to get on a few good tracks however, I do feel like we were pretty lucky because we were able to spot a couple of those coon from in the dens.
Whip looked about as good as I've seen him look in the past several weeks minus a few kinks. I'm planning on giving him a few nights off. That trick seems to be working some. Maybe this road to recovery is almost over.

Curtis, good to hear that Whip is doing better. Will be putting a couple of Whip and Lady pups in the woods anytime now.
Best of luck with Whip.

Just an update
My Evil pup from the Whip x Joleen cross is coming on strong. He's about 6 1/2 months old now and is learning every time we go to the woods. Just the other night him and Pride, my GrNtCh off of Jet 9, went half a mile to get hooked. Evil stayed with him the whole time and at one point, before they got into the nasty swamp, was leading the track. When Pride loaded up treed I pulled around to get closer and when I got out the truck Ol' Evil was giving a long dying bawl on the tree. I hurried towards them only to find out they were on a den tree. Once I got there, the pup changed over from that long bawl to a hard steay chop.
The Dee female had her pups about 6 weeks ago. She ended up only rasing two males. I went day before yesterday and picked mine out and will be bringing him home next week sometime.
I'm officially putting Whip on the "DL" for now. He hasnt been really feeling much better other than a few nights here and there. Looks like I'm going to set him up for a while and maybe try to have him ready for the Peach Classic in March and if not then, definitely for Bluetick Days in May.
As the year is coming to a close, I'd like to personally thank those who have taken the time to post comments and have made phone calls inquiring about Whip.
It's been a year full of ups and downs, but a soild year of Coon treeing none the less.
Maybe we'll continue to tree coon in 2015!
Tree Blue!
