Ed lives here in Corydon I don't see him very often, I know at one point he sold most everything he had I believe egli ended up with most of it, I haven't seen him at a hunt in years, I used to run into him quite a bit hunting, but heard he still had several dogs
I know Wayne and Perry Klages had a lot of Ernie semen but Wayne sold his and it turned out to be bad there may be more but don't know who has it, if your looking for heavy black land bred stud you need to check into black land tug, he shows bearcat, ernie , Sioux up close

I will say that Black Land Bear did throw plenty of tree power and some did tree to much when they were young but once they got a good kill season or two on them they usually got that out of there system.

Now tell me about these other dogs that were so much better than him since I have never heard of them or seen any of them in any pedigrees. I'm not a beginner in the breed so if they were that good I think I would have heard a little about them.

Her you go Ralph. This is Buckwheat and his son Mill Creek Bad Mood.
I've never heard of the Screaming Ernie dog or Bozo.

Lovis- What year were those ads from? I remembered the Bad Mood ad. A buddy of mine, Jim Sobania, had a littermate to Buckwheat. He was huge, 100 +lbs, a head so big that he would have starved if you fed him out of a 5 gallon pail. Extremely cold nosed, slowish on track, accurate as a Rollex, loud as they come. Had feet like a goose though and he took his time to get hunting. Ted Feeler also had a littermate, Cinderella? I think his Beast goes back to her. Kind of makes sense as Beast has several of those same qualities, just the better ones though from what I've seen.

Doug, I'm not sure what year they are. I will have to look it up and see. I had these when I was doing a bunch of research. As I was going to breed a female to King of Kings. A son out of Bad Mood that Willard owned. And a buddy of mine bred a female to Mood, but didn't get any pups. King of Kings mother was a GrNite Special female. Willard has a male now call Bad Attitude, that is out of a PR Special female and Bad Mood. I know he will have him at B&T Days!

The Buckwheat ad says good luck in 2001. So it must be from late 2000 or 2001

GRNTCh Coble's Indiana Black Spike was out of Bear

Posted by rweller on 04-16-2014 09:52 PM:

GRNTCH COBLES INDIANA BLACK SPIKE. Was out of Black Land Bear.

GRNTCHGrCh. Hills Jessie was out of Black Land Bear.

There was a Male that won a Pro Hunt out Of Bear. Not sure of his name but he was owned by Merlin Hershberger I believe. Died when he was only 2 or 3.

Nt.Ch. ‘PR’ TREE Jar’n Logan (4 wins towards Grand) out of Bear. He is the sire of my Queen female that's a Gr.Nt.Ch. only litter he sired and she has a brother and sister that are Nt.Ch. I think there were only 5 in the litter.

Don Egli's Bearcat dog is out of Bear I believe.

GRNITECH PR REED’S BLACK KATE

Gr.Nt. Andy's Super Rockin Abbey

NITECH FEELER'S MIGHTY MINNIE. Littermate to Cobles Spike.

Gr.Nt.Ch. Jammin' Jackie

These are a few I can think of off the top of my head off of Bear.

To much tree power now there's a problem id like to have agian. Isnt that along the same lines of having to much money. Trevor them dogs long gone its time to move on.

Posted by STROKIN on 04-17-2014 02:52 AM:

I drew out with buckwheat twice. First time he didn't look to good, but the second time he looked real good. Two blk dogs and two walker dogs. We put a spanking on them. I got the win, with queen getting treed at the end of the hunt with a coon.
