-- Your first black and tan... (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928368328)
I didn't know coon hunting existed as much as i did til i dated scott corwin who was a neighbor and handler of billy grimes. first time in the woods was with ellie mae. well Billy had a litter of pups and something got into the litter and chewed the paw off of one and he was just gonna cull him...well scott gave him to me as a pet. we let him run the farm in the spring and he would run and kill ground hogs all day when he was a pup...showed him a coon and that was it. got his first win on his first birthday...but think something happened in a hunt where he didn't tree right for awhile...he's back on track now and will hopefully make nitech soon...he's got such a cute personality too

Crow
Dad had dogs ever since I can remember but this one was special and the first dog that I will never forget. Nightriders Crow was out of Signal Mtn. Stud and his mother was out of Doyan Morelands Black Man. Crow was so perfect it was freaky. As you can see he was just a beautiful dog, big bawl mouth on track, steady chop on tree. He had hustle and drive that was rare in this breed back in the 70's. and straight on coons and would tree squirrels for me in the day time. Unfortunately he was killed at a little over a year old by hanging in a brush pile by his collar.

My 1st BNT I owned by myself was this one I called chief he was out of whitakers black smokey II and a gyp out of Two Time Albert and thunder mountain Mandy.. Bought him from Tim at 12 weeks old. Started young and was easy to get started. Reasoning for his registered name is bc his tail curled over his back unless you held it straight.. Made Nitech as a 2 year old then bc of some family issues didn't hunt him in hunts after he finished to Nitech.. Chop mouth all the way around with one long dieing locate turned over to a steady chop.. He was a very hard hunting dog all you jad to do was open the kennel door and have the tailgate down n he run straight to the truck and load himself every time, now loading him after a quick drop or if he felt like he was done after several drops he wouldnt load for anything you'd have pick him up to load him, use to poss me off but now that I look back on it I just laugh. Even hand to put a roof over the kennel bc he'd climb on top of his dog house n jump out n go hunting by himself.. Great kill dog he'd carry the coon out for ya use to have to blow in his ear to get him to let go, a trick I learned from my grandpa. Still trying to find a hound that has that drive and ability. Still my all time favorite hound I've ever owned..
From the description of his tail and locate sounds like he carried a lot of Albert influence. Big Time had a major curl tail, Two Times wasn't as much.

Yea after doing a little research due to my curiosity of wanting to know where the curly tail came from I found out that Big time Albert had the same type tail.. Although I'm to young to have ever got the chance to hunt with big time it's good to know that's where a lot of his characteristics came from.. Thanks for the info.
