Panel or no panel, I will say this. Some trees look completely different in the day than they do at night! Few and far between yes, but some do.
The worst tree I seen scored wrongly last year was in a $KC hunt.

It will take away the cheats most times. They want minus a tree they know dern well will be circled if a panel sees it and risk having to sit on the sidelines for a while because of it. Using the hunt director format. You already have to put up money for a question. I see no reason why not to take the panel back out just in case. It will hardly ever be done. Just keeps folks more honest.

the problem I always saw with the pkc rule.....taking a panel back to the tree.......
most pkc hunts around here couldn't even draw a full cast of dogs let alone enough extra hunters from others to make up a panel.
I can promise you, member of pkc or not (was, am not now) if I ever got a call wanting me to go to a hunt I didn't even attend and then go as part of a panel to score a tree from a cast I wasn't even in.....
the words I would have to say in that phone call wouldn't be pleasant for anyone to hear

If u got a dog that trees coons no need to circle or minus trees ? I beat them lest minus cast winning dog every night by just putting one coon on them

I hunt both PKC and UKC, I like them both. But here's a question. Since you don't like to pay out $ to a cast winner with the least minus. How come in PKC guys are winning trucks with scores like 100+ But if you go to a big UKC hunt and don't score at least 1000+ your not even gonna sniff 1st place. (And yes I have seen 1000+ scored legitimately) No one registry is gonna please everyone so I guess it's a good thing that we have more then one with different sets of rules. At least we have choices. I can say this from my own experiences, I have seen less arguing over $$$ then I have over a little yellow piece of paper. I will continue to hunt both. I go to win, but also to have a good time, BS, and see some good dog work. So to get back on the subject, would it hurt to have a pannel process to check a tree that was improperly scored? I don't think so. Would it keep a questionable person a little more honest? I do think so, And as for the real cheaters they'll just find another way to put the screws to you.

For a few reasons Bengie. One usually in other kc. U gotta beat the dogs you draw head to head before your eliminated. Don't need them big scores. Don't need guides dropping you on feeders all night. And you don't have guys needing to falsify a scorecard. If one thing I like to see is ukc nt. Ch. Or gr. Nt. Cast winners should go back to the woods against each other for the win. Then I bet them scores go down!!!!. Just like the last few years at autumn oaks amazingly the scores got lower that it took to win. Lol.

I just asked a simple ?, it's easy to keep from using if the trees are scored right! I've only had 1 panel brought back to score a tree in my 5+ years of Pkc hunting & don't think I've been on but 2 cast including the panel ? Where there was a ? On the scorecard. The way to win a truck hunt is to be a consistent winner! Not just score 1,000+ once. It involves a steady month of winning & have the top 5 $ winning hound (3 in open events, 2 in 30$ events) in that month, then be consistent & win 3 cast at the truck hunt against 59 other dogs that was consistent for a month. In my years of competition CoonHunting as long as you have a good strict judge it's normally fair but there are still them cast that you just can't stand to be in & it sucks because I've seen other people's good hounds get cheated out of a win because of 2 buddy's wouldn't do what was right but I guess that's just part of the game

Majority rule that a tree is circle, slick, or + when it's not.

They very seldom have to take a pannel to the woods. Tony I get what your saying. You had a simple idea to try and improve the sport and to try to eliminate some of the BS.

PKC is to far advanced for some of these hunters.

Incorrect, you don't get to pick the panel. The hunt director does, & then the whole cast have to agree with the panel before they leave to score the tree. It's simple & fair to all hunters & it keeps the not so honest; honest. It's very seldom used but it'd rather have it to use then not have it & need it. Just my opinion
