How many coons do you see actually cross out? How many opossums do you actually see cross out? If it was a Nt.Ch cast I would scratch all dogs on that tree because I would sure enough plus it if a coon were seen.

I actually had that happen in a cast one night. The trees were small and bushy and all intertangled together by vines. The possum wasn't actually in the tree that our dogs feet were on, but clearly could have and probabibly did take a grapevine and cross over. We all agreed if it had been a coon we would have plussed it and as such took our minus without complaint. I don't think we are out there to play Shirlock Holmes and determine if something actually did cross, but rather if it could have crossed and score accordingly.

I have seen a lot of coons cross out, I have watched them cross out. I used to hunt a lot of hedge rows here where I live and watched them craw right on down the hedge row. Its not uncommon for coon.

Everyone has there own opinion, I would give the dogs the benefit of the doubt, minus the tree and let keep on hunting.

Scratch. If you would plus it if it was a coon, you have to scratch if it's a Grinner. Can't make up rules to benefit you in different scenarios. Although, I'm betting the majority would minus, and keep hunting.

There will always be cases where a crossout is discovered during shine time but in most cases you know if you might have trees connected at a glance.

john this needs clarified its one thing to use the moon and see if trees connect or not before shine time but a light you got to be kidding ? where's jim ? he will know the right answer

What if 2 trees are touching (good cross over) and dogs are treed 2 under opossum and 2 under coon in other tree? Coon Plus it up right? Have seen this happen dogs treed under a coon with slick tail in other. Very very rare
