Dog b when ya get up at 4 to go to work dog a mite make ya late for work! Don't like a really deep huntn dog especially 1 that won't come win called!

I own a dog b and prefer a dog b I hate a dog that you drop and they blow out of the country. I hunt with a bunch of grand nite whatevers that get DEEP and I have had them get DEEP and my old dog B go right behind them after checking back 2 or 3 times and tree coons behind them. Trust me I have had him put it on a many a grand nite whatevers because of this. All I do is pleasure hunt not in it for the cash or someone else screwing me and calling my dog stuff that would just end in a fist fight trust me I got a short fuse at times. I have turned down big money for my dog b because of it making dog a look stupid....

jmo

All hard going, big and wide hunting dogs don't run past coon. That is a different kind called foot racers

Yep. I've hunted a wide hunter for yrs. She's pretty much retired now at 11.5 yrs old. I've walked many a mile to her. Never ever but once in her life has she ever came back. That's with 5 dogs 3 dogs or just her. Musta just not felt good that one night. I've hunted her her whole life. As far as I remember. She's never had a coon treed behind her. That's ever. I've talked about it on other forums how she might be a mile or more. Cur dog men would always claim they would tree coon behind me. Invited lots to try it. None had the nerve don't recken. What most of them didn't realize is our thin coon and a lazy 2 or 3 hundred yard huntin dog will not tree you ANY right now on Dawson Forest. Paulding Forests litter mate but steeper lol!!!

you know ive owned a dog like dog A. Treed a lot of coons and won a few hunts. Had some fun. If you tried a dog like dog B you might end up liking it. Possibly.

Abd yall on dog B, im not talking about a dog that dont hunt at all and dont want to get treed. I just mean one that hunts out and checks back in

200 yards? You know better than that. I can ride you around all night turning out and us not tree nothing. Now I might could handle a 1000 yard circle

Or a 2,000 yard straight line. I'll call any man a liar that claims he can bring a 200 yard circle dog to my woods and tree coons with any regularity.

Ain't happening here either. We can test this theory though. Im free Prolly after this week. I can guide a 200 yard dog all night. For nights on end. I bet in 5 turn outs. We don't tree nothing. In 10 maybe 1. Least I normally have never or have saw anybody else do it here either. If we tree 5 or 6 though all around the truck. I'll be buying that dog before they go home

Dog A as long as it's not a road runner, or a dog racer. I want that dog hunting hard not just in a dead run for a mile, or running trash. A hard hunting dog A will be struck and treed before a dog B. There is a big differnce.

hunting dog

the style of hunting dog you need depends on what part of the country you hunt. where I live I got a 7mth old pup it will tree 6-10 coon in 1 woods be home before 10 pm some times before 9 pm.

If I have to walk with the dog I don't need him. To each their own but that defeats the purpose for me.

I used to be the same way. I gave away a dog years ago that I would consider good now

200 thats not very far but over a mile is to far. i guess im a little picky but i perfer somewere in the middle most of the time. my choice is neither. i cant make dog b go farther so i dont think i would be happy with that one. dog a i would try to control with the tone if that worked out well i maybe could be happy with this one but that tone button better work more times than not.

What you got now ol buddy? It don't matter to me what anyone hunts as long as I don't have to hunt with it regular My perfect dog I think would hunt about 45 min alone. If not struck. Come on back. Im getting to old for these hills. Now on flat land. I don't care if they go to the ends of the earth

a guy gave me an english female. All im looking to do is pleasure hunt. She was a brood female. Done had 3 litters. Will be 4 years old in march. Ran around his house and treed possums. Well she trees coons too and shes a tree dog and she seems quick. Ive only been hunting her since about october. Shes easy to tell when shes treed. Im liking her
