ms guthrie on stud dog page has some fine looking hounds and he said they have the tooles can strike a bad track move it threw tember and get treed and have the meat i have two pups out of his stock that have amazed me they ar born to tree coons il say the best pups iv ever had so for

Eddie my pups look like that when they are young, but don't stay that houndy. You have some nice ones though. I do have a couple nice females for future crosses, but time will tell if they make it here.

Travis I sure like the looks of the Utchman hound. He has a big blocky head and wide muzzle like mine here.

Tom I talk with Steve perryman from time to time. He has some hounds that still look like the foundation stock of his family line. They are put together right.

I will have to check out Ms Guthrie on stud dog page. I like hounds that still look like hounds.

I believe you can lose some things when you give up the houndy looks. I have had guys say mine can get treed two times to your dogs one and when I hunt with them it does'nt always go that way. I say if I have to walk a mile to the tree the dog better have coon. I am not a comp hunter neither so getting treed 6 times in two hours is not a big deal to me. I will take 3 or 4 coon in two hours though.

thank you for the kind words! we believe our hounds have great noses and most of them have a beautiful mouth. our Crocket dog is throwing the loudest mouths on our pups that we have had thus far. all of his pups generally have way better mouths on them that he does. out of 5 litters he has sired, winding ability, loud mouth, and looks are all common traits.

We sure have some nice looking hounds on this thread.

We are able to produce the run to catch, winding ability accurate type hounds, but they are not always nice to look at. We are breeding coon dog to coon dog. The female has 50% or more to do with the out come. We just need a really nice houndy female that has ability as well. We have been working towards that and time will tell.

Keep posting I like hounds that are barrel chested, blocky headed and have a lower set of ears.

Have ya'll noticed they normally sound like a hound should?
