-- Running track backwards? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928340032)
I don't disagree with the fact it's a flaw . And brains to help ... Dogs don't figure things out on their own with something like backtracking , you either break them or correct them for it ; if possible or they will always do it . My opinion . Some may disagree . Dogs that make slicks and dens frequently can be directly linked to backtracking or not finishing tracks . Guys whipping dogs off slicks and then having the dog tree coons off of a whooping may help correct it ; but circumstances like that the dog would be broke without you even realizing it. I guess I agree with his entire statement except for the very last sentence I strongly disagree .
To me , in my opinion . The guys that will flat coon hunt a dog just to kill coons; will realize faults like backtracking , way before majority of other hunters would

thank you Daniel! well said.
Thanks for all the response! Well,I went last night and turned loose a good ways from the buckets and she struck and ran the track abt 400yds and had two coons up on the other side of the creek abt 150 yds from the buckets! Made another drop where there wasn't any buckets and treed a single! I don't think she was miraculously cured but without the buckets was a better night.....
