That's a good law there.

We have a fella around here that is setting fly bait out all over his field and it shares 3 property lines with public hunting ground.

turn his a$$ in if the state game wardens won't do anything after you show the then call the Feds take a pic of the game warden next to the fly bait and get his job if he won't do anything. He's there to protect the wildlife

there's a farmer 4 mile from me braggin to his farmer buddy's that he found 36 dead coons in 4 nites off his fly bait pan. All in 1 spot. what a idiot. They'll be people use this stuff all around to kill coons in season, you watch. Better than trapping them.

They better hope the boys around here don't catch em!! If a guy has to stoop to poison to get a few coons he's got trouble. If the law won't handle the problem a few sets of valve stems and a fat lip might!

The rest of the ears on that knocked down stalk will not be picked up by the combine. I have personally seen coon damage in 1 corn field exceed an acre on more than a few occasions.

Deer do most of their damage by eating the top of young corn plants.

The is no other small mammal that has more of an economic impact in both the positive and negative than the raccoon.

Raccoons eat all fruits, they get into maple syrup buckets, they get into barns and silos contaminating everything with their feces. Oh did I mention that coons nearly always carry round worms? That if eaten by a cow can cause the death of that cow. I have seen coons eat both wheat and soy beans, but they don't cause the same level of loss as they do with corn.

Fact of the matter is farmers and coon hunters should be working together.

Around here Turkey will level it along with the deer. Coon damage here is minimal compared to Deer and Turkey. I'm sure it varies from state to state. Farmers biggest complaint about coon here is they get in their barns and crap all over their high dollar equipment.

Especially if hide prices go up.......low life S.O.B.'s a real sportsman.

Ill say, everyone and their brother will be a "coon hunter" this year! I hate to see the prices go any higher because at 18-20 $ a coon there will be lots of pans of fly bait layin out.

You can bet on it! they'll be alot out this season. our coon population has dropped off alot. it don't take long to gut a area when you kill dozens a night with that shtuff.

I thought of this idea this mornin',if the possom cops don't want to enforce the law we need to contact our representatives & get them to make it illegal to use that fly bait on anything but flies,& make the fine real steep.

I've been called a Redneck and I don't think the Rednecks I know would let his crap go unanswered. The Marlin selling feedstores, the manufacturer, the landowner, everyone involved should be delt with.

it would do no good to contact your representives they are not going against farmers. i found out a long time ago it is hopeless to go against farmers or the timber industry.

Coyotes will sure wipe out a lot of corn when it is in the milk stage. them suckers will tear the ears off and if they do not break off the stalks, they will pull them down too.
My brother has had that problem the last 3 years... last year lost about 3-4 acres to them buggers--- tracks in mud told the story
3 years ago i was called to get coon out of a fellows Sweet corn--- live trapped and re-located 13 BUT the major damage was coyotes.. tracks in the mud told the tale-- the coyotes often carry the ears to one spot and lay doun and have a feast,, the mounds of cobs tell the story.

At any rate-- poison is a very dirty trick and totally indiscriminate-
like was said it could be someones child.

Brad is right, the state government in indiana will just about bow down and kiss a farmers boots....

You may have permission on a thousand acres with no poison but if your hound happens over the fence to the neighbor god knows what he's up against
