ive been to a few hunts see alot of dogs that look like they have had there head in a meat grinder.seems like you need to take a mean dog not a coon dog if you want to do well.i have a nice coon dog that trees real live coons up trees no buckets or caged coons and isnt ill at all.and it wouldnt put her in a hunt for anything.

Posted by chasinbear on 09-12-2013 01:13 AM:

a dog that is ill doesnt live long around here

I have 2 dogs that will blow up at feeding time, penned next to each other. They hunt fine togeather. Would you wait for something to happen in the woods, or cull them now?

jmo as long as they get along out in the woods i wouldn't worry to much but i would do some butt kickin about the feed issue i had 2 beagles same way the never really did nothing but crowl at each other turn them loose hunting never hear a growl outa them

Posted by Bill(Chew) on 09-12-2013 04:51 AM:

I used to know of two English littermate males that stayed in the same pen, slep in the same house, ate out of the same bowl, and hunted fine together or with other dogs. They were not ill in any way unless you tried to put them in the same side of a dog box. They would ride fine with any other dog but if put together in a box and they would try to kill each other. ????!!!!

I have put the fear of god in them a couple of times, it seems like it's getting better. Both good size dogs, 75 and almost 90 pounds. I am thinking about cutting them anyway.

No ya got me confused with someone else,I got 2 Walker females & 1 should be X-breed but don't get me wrong I have hunted with a few really good Redbones,if I found a Redbone like my buddy had back in the mid 70's it would be in my kennel.
