Mr. Paul Sheffield owned Hardwood Dan. I hunted against Dan at SETWD in grand nite cast. I was so impressed that I had to see him go again, so we went to Georgia to breed a nite ch female of ours. Mr Paul put us up, fed us and took us hunting with Dan. Dan bred our female and 30 minutes later he loaded up and went hunting. I was more impressed that night than I was before. Solid coon dog that knew where to look for a coon. To bad he didn't do that great in the stud pen.

Back when Nocturnal Nailor was Hot in the Stud pen, Gary Davis bred his POCKET ROCKET FEMALE to Nailor. Thus ,The BEST male Dog I was ever in the woods with was HARD ROCK CAFE'. A Result of this pairing. He was so fast on a track, most hunters thought there were two coons. And he also was the hardest TREE DOG I WAS EVER IN THE WOODS WITH!!!! And was a VERY GOOD REPRODUCER. The Best Female I was with was MOUNTAIN STATE SNEAKER, a little 35lb. female, Line Bred Off Dohoney's Mike, who came out of Alabama or Georgia. I think, Thigpin or something like that owned her when she was young. I got her from a Dog dealer in Ohio. She made hunting VERY ENJOYABLE for me. And Put me in the winners circle often. You can count on one hand, the times she treed and you didn't see a COON!!! I sold her to Oklahoma and that's where she died.

Our Lou female's GRAND-DAM is Cinby, between what you just said about Cinby and the traits of her mother, sounds like she's following in their footsteps. I've heard alot of great things about her.

gr nt grand river boy

a walker male back in the earily 80"s I hunted with him many, many nites for years. he was fast on track I never saw a track he couldt finish never saw a tree he located on that he left period. he had the coon looking out when he treed.he never ran or treed any offgame.cut him loose get him off the tree always no messing around with or without company didn't matter. only thing I didn't like, he did chew at the tree. better have a all chain lease.

he was the best I have hunted with bar none.

A female pup out of pr dogs that we got for 50 bucks.lol.Best coondog ive ever seen.We would set a stopwatch and see if she could tree a coon in,less than 60 seconds. She did it many many times. We loved to see a huntin truck at one of the local spots. We would pull in right beside them.Wait till there dogs came back and wed cut ol Casey loose.Shed tree one every time.Them guys would say bs im gonna go check that tree.Coon everytime.Shes was super fast, all business and very balanced. Her bloodline showed lipper and kentucky spot cant remember the rest.Ill always be lookin another dog like her.

Adios Lightning - was in a cast with him 1 time. He had double the points of any dog in the cast. Not sure of the gentlman's name hangling him but he called him treed the very instant the dog barked up. That far ahead and still called him treed that quick. And he was legit each time.

Homer's Gomer - Still the most impressive tree dog I can remember. Not just on some trees, but on every tree.

The best I ever owned - Grand Nite Ch Boone Creek Grider. Very possibly the most hunted, hardest hunted advertised son of Sackett Jr. His mom was a Grand Nite direct out of Lipper, she was Grand Nite Ch Minnesota Bad Sally. I miss old Grider even today.

Mike

I had forgot about Adios Lightning in my first post. Hunted with him many times and he had more go than most of them. Steve Parish won two National Championships with him. Which made him and his Dad, Lipper probably the only Father Son combo to accomplish that.

I second this. Cinby was a straight out coondog. If you were planning on seeing a coon on a bad night. This would be the dog to take to the woods.

The Zeus dog I mentioned was out of Lone Pine Satan! Don't remember what his momma was. He got a real bad reputation back in the day, undeserved from what I saw when I hunted him!
All I can say is, you didn't want to hunt a mean dog with him. You would go in with 2 dogs, and would come out with just Zeus. I saw my buddys dog tree on his back and not a growl, blow, or even a turn of his head! Big beautiful hound!

Gary Uchtman's Ranger 6 got tick fever at a young age, and never did get much exposure, but the best one night performance I ever saw out of a dog was by him.

He put on a clinic that night.

We were hunting in the Missourri Ozarks and looked at something like 13 coon before the sun came up.

he was nice.

i was a spectator on a cast at the winter classic with world ch. mr. clean.. i loved the way he hunted but i could tell its nothing that would be passed in a stud pen its just a blessing to see a dog like that. it might pass in stud pen dunno. but if you got land and hear a dog drift a track without stopping rolling bawl and head up running. slams treed with a steady chop before the other three even get gone good.. i was impressed but it takes alot to have hound that can hunt all around the country..

CH GRNITECH 'PR' ROCK N ROLL JUNKY guys make claims about 90+% accurate dogs this is the only one i have ever seen. He would put you on a walk sometimes but always worth it. Fast Hard Mean track Dog with absolutely No Return. Kick dirt in your face, get off to himself and have a Coon. Trees coons that others don't even smell. I have seen some other good ones but none better than Junky.
