You should seriously try to get a hold of Tom Hopkins for info on Law and the owner of Rooster for info on him. They'd probably both be willing to tell you everything you want to know and who knows maybe they will offer to take you hunting with them. Also there are other threads on here about the pups off these two dogs with posts from people that own or hunted with them. I'm sure you can get the info you're looking for for some of them.

Thanks History Nutt thats some good info you put up about Skuna River hounds.Ive always wondered what was behind Fred and Bark because most current pedigrees dont go back tat far.Wish i could save all that info.

I agree with you, I also think the female puts more into a pup than the male does. If I was looking to buy a pup then yes I would want one off of the females, but I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that my female will cross well with Law or Rooster, and give me the type of pups I'm looking for. Just can't decide which one I would rather breed her to when the time comes.

A good reproducing female is a lot harder to find IMO than a good reproducing stud dog.
I been trying to find a pup out of one of the females for over a year now that is in reasonable driving distance with no success so far.

Carl I know about 4 of the females. Lucille, Lizzy, Honey Bunny and Miss Lipper. The males are Dr. Law, Rooster, Impact and the pup that Tom Hopkins had Ronnie Bone hunting that was killed at a young age. I believe the other male is in the midwest. Don't remember what state Tom said he went too. I suspect the owner of that male and also the other female aren't interested in the drama.

Dr. Law bred to a Rambler female

Hi,

There is a Rambler female that will be bred to Dr. Law this summer. That will answer all the questions I have.

Love Lipper breeding or hate it. The good ones out of good mothers put outstanding pups on the ground. I know from first hand experience.

Rambler was # 2 on UKC's Current Reproducer List until he went sterile. To my knowledge, I don't think he was advertised at public stud. I think everything was word of mouth.

Finley River

Hi,

You are welcome to come go hunting any night October- March with that "line of track dogs".

Never owned one that stood on its head, trailed all night, or couldn't finish a track. I hunt linebred Finley River Dan dogs.

I also crossed a line bred Finley River Dan 3 dog on House's Lipper. That cross started the Durbin's Rambler dogs of today. Maybe you have heard of them? They have 4 shots of Dan and Lipper up close. PKC hunters value those dogs and they win.

I personally took a female to Law that was hardwood maniac bred she had 7 nice pups all of them looked nice and had huge mouths. However the 2 I kept made tree dogs before they were a year old, but got to where I couldn't catch them in the woods at night even at the tree. I sold the mother of them as a pleasure dog because her pups didn't perform well for me. I now have a pup out of Lucille,witch is Laws sister that is the best pup I have had in years. I believe the female has more input on the pups than most people think. I have heard lots of good things about the cross with Ivey. I believe the litter of impact will produce some great hounds. I personally have hunted with Lucille more that 200 times and she is all coondog and has been treeing right since she was 7.5 months old. There are a lot of people that have doubted the litter and believe me if Paul Camp would have pushed her in the hunts everyone's mouth would be shut,she is a great hound and a great producer from what iv seen from her first litter.I think ether stud would work great if crossed with the right female.

Steve Miller has his Dual Ch female, Nellie bred to Dr. Law; these pups should be on the ground this week. Nellie is a beautiful female out of Neosho River Rudy, and a reproducer of quality hounds. We have a two year old male out of her and Dual Grand the Duke that made NTCH with three firsts; been in one Nt Ch cast and has a NTCh win, beautiful hound with a loud mouth. We have a year old male out of her and an X Jr dog, that is just about hunt ready, beautiful hound and extremely loud. These pups should be the total package, looks, brains and ability. If you are interested in a nice Dr Law pup, give Steve a call 580-823-2200.

Dual Champion Nellie had her pups this morning, nine, all blanket back, and you could all ready hear them from the barn to the house. These should be some nice pups, can't wait 'til they are big enough to haul. Tom
