Our count down is on. One by one until we get to at least our goal. So many of you do such a good job on here. These computers have giving us the ability to stay current like nothing in the past ever has. There is still no substitute for "boot leather" doing it in the woods and there is no substitute for the "Blue Book." David Woofter has added his name to the list for a full page. Where are you Board of Directors and State Reps? If I can help anyone you can PM me on here if you wish or my Email address is cwbluebio@gmail.com or phone 478 361 7703. I am down for at least 1 page also. Our list is starting to grow but I want it so long it is hard to keep up with. Thanks and good hunting!

Blue Pages

Robert, C.W. and Folks: I've just seen some of the stuff going into the new BBCHA book. Quite a few of the snapshots were sent to me back in 1979 by Elbert Vaughn. Elbert put $.30 of postage on the packet, I had to pay $.74 Postage Due. Ha. Anyway, grand historical shots and they'll be in the 2013 book. Glad to see such early enthusiasm for the Golden Anniv. Issue!

My ad will be in there; I think 47th consecutive. Always enjoy pulling out an old Blue Book now and then. Keep up the energy!

Guy

With David, Gary and Guy stepping forward and putting their names down that makes three more for us all to look forward to seeing when this book comes out. Makes me wish we had a "Like" button on here just as facebook has. By gathering these names we will have an idea of who will be in there but not what all will be included. I say this because Dale Parker and I have a little running joke about my ideas on the ad I am working on. He trys to trick me into telling him what I am going to include. I reassure him that he will see soon enough-when our book comes out-give us a smile there Dale. Come on some of you heavy weight stud owners as well as the light weights like me. We want you as a part of this special edition.

This photo was included in the 1980 Edition of the BBCHA Bluebook. My relatives with Cur dogs (cur by definition -means of unknown ancestry, mongrel dog.) There should therefore never be a "registered cur." They hunted about everything with these dogs. My Grandmother said the boy rode the cow "Untill the cow got interested in other cows!" This photo was taken around the turn of that other century-1900. Find this along with a lot more interesting materials specific to Blueticks and Bluetick men in this special edition-which we sure hope you will choose to be a part of by placing your ad.

Posted by cwbluebio on 07-02-2013 10:33 PM:

Most of the true legends of our sport had some things in common. The fact that they followed and preferred these Blueticks first and foremost. Next in line was there steadfast dedication to their breed association and the annual book it published. Even before the hunts were featured these men were working on their place in history. Their ads were the source of information over the years so much so that you felt as if you knew the man, his dogs and their pedigrees. This special edition Blue Book is going to feature many of those very same men from our past but it is also going to include those individuals who are serious about having a future in this sport as well. If you share those sentiments about your dog, this sport and about securing yourself a place then by all means join us by simply placing an ad now and for the future.

I have had some calls from people asking questions about how and when to place an ad. My overall feeling is to simply say-just come up with your idea and the good folks doing the book will make it happen. In other words do not make the process complicated. It is not meant to be. True service to you is the intent. This is truley going to be a special effort for all of us to appreciate for years to come. My hats off to the officers and directors of BBCHA for making this possible and all in COLOR. All that is left for us to do is to make the most of our good fortune by placing an ad. Thank you to all of you who have indicated that you will and everyone else with good intentions.

If you do just one thing right this year-make it your ad in the Blue Book. Be sure to drag that camera out to the dog pen or with you to the woods. Share your smiling face with the rest of us and show off those good looking Blue dogs. This is truly a special edition and one we will all be glad we were a part of. I am currently working with people on their collections of these books as well as the older magazines. It is just one more aspect of our sport that appeals to me. If you think I can be of help to you along these lines -give me a shout. Good hunting and lets see it in the Blue Book!

A good portion of the discussion during the BBCHA's Board of Directors meeting at this years Grand National Bluetick Reunion was about the 50th edition of the BLUE BOOK. All for you!

Posted by cwbluebio on 09-01-2013 11:04 PM:

BBCHA President Ed Mauney and his wife Mary Ann at the BBCHA Booth during Autumn Oaks in Richmond, Indiana. Ed was busy throughout the entire event signing up members, shaking hands, greeting Bluetick people, wishing them luck in the hunt and encouraging us to attend the Fall Roundup at Flora. Ed also delivered a straight forward message on this Bluebook and what a bargain these color page ads are to the entire Bluetick community. A big thank you to Ed and his wife for the job they are doing for us.

If you read back through the comments on this site you will see a lot of names of Bluetick people you recognize. There will also see names of people you do not know yet. I do know this list of people placing their color ads is getting longer. Many of them hold a position in BBCHA and once the others who do step forward we should be in great shape as this book gets it's finishing touches prior to heading to the printer. The single ingredient most needed is you. BBCHA has always been the independent breed association that represents the individual and their hounds. I placed my first BBCHA ad thirty something years ago, wish I had done it sooner! Glad to be here to do it again with you in 2000 and 13-the 50th edition of this classic annual!

We want you & your ad!

This is my chicken. She eats with my cat and hangs out around the dog pens. Now I have evidence of her fraternizing with the enemy. She loves pecking around in my old blue books and bout laid an egg when I told her this new bluebook was going to be all color ads. She promised, if you would place an ad in it, that you won't hear a peep out of her!
