Yes it does seem high. Was it $300 to collect & $90/yr. storage?

The other side of the coin is if you have the semen stored elsewhere & come breeding time have to have it shipped into the vet doing the procedure the shipping cost is also very high. It was $200 dollars 7 years ago to have some shipped.

I guess you have to evaluate what you will be doing with the semem once it is collected. If it will be mainly for your own use & you want a local vet to do AI procedures with it, you may want to compare the overall final price tag of local vs. out of town & see which way you want to lean. If it will be mainly for selling to interested parties, then where it is stored is of little consequence to you.

Dean is a very reputable vet & more reasonable price wise than what the outfit in Columbus is, just drive costs & shipping costs to consider.
