[B]How bout it Mr Stroud? What is up? Why would you not be contacting potential supporters less than 3 weeks from a state hunt?
I contacted James Atwell at Nite Time Hunting and Pet Supply. James hasen't decided if he was coming or not. he said he wanted to but he might go to Bluetick days. It all depended on who else was going where. Gary Beaty was going to contact some of the other venders and some of the directors was going to contact the other venders. I haven't heard from them yet whether they have contacted them or not. I will post as soon as I find out who is coming.

Ron what about the meetings and the election when are these held and why hasn't anyone received anything?

Posted by Josh Longmire on 04-26-2013 09:32 PM:

They done had there meeting. It just so happened they had it on the same night when we had ours. And yes they should be a buisness meeting on Saturday letting everyone know what's going on and where we stand as an alliance. What I don't understand is why everything is kept a secret and the more people I talk to they don't know anything about it. This alliance has been going since the world hunt was at rogersville. If we want this thing to grow and take off and be successful in protecting our rights as hunters then there need to be some changes done. What is the alliance doing to protect those rights? Better yet what is this dog alliance about? We pay our membership up in this alliance and its about time we know what's going on. What's our money being used for? And where do we stand as an aliiance? These are just simple questions that needs to be answered. Ron I'm not trying to single you out. I know that there is others in it to. You dont have to answer on here but it will be brought up at the hunt.

It all don't add up to me!

Posted by bootlegger90 on 04-27-2013 02:54 AM:

First off this is not bootlegger this is Mike Bryant on his login ID!

We will be having a State Alliance meeting at the State hunt Saturday and 10:00am. We would like to have everyones feedback!

We have a couple of people working on them so we will let everyone know ASAP!

I said all of that as an officer in the Alliance I say this as a personal friend of Ron's! Some of the posters are sounding like Ron has done something wrong or something? Ron is just like everyone else he works at least 40 hours is involved in his church and has his own home coon club that he has a major role in! So some times theres just not enough hours in the day! He is not the only officer there are several of US! We have been and are doing the best that we can to make sure the Tennessee Sporting Dog Alliance is successful in everything we undertake and that the State hunt & show is something that all its members can be proud of. Ron is one of the biggest contributers to that success!!!!!!! I will not sit by and not let everyone know just how important Ron is to that success!

Posted by Tim longmire on 04-27-2013 04:05 AM:

Mike no one is acting like Ron has has done anything wrong but when you all as an alliance say " you as members will get this and we are going to do this and that" and nothing is ever heard of after you guys take money for membership is going to raise questions and get people to wondering about what is being done and your right there are more people involved besides Ron ....so if it's to much to do why wouldn't you bring someone else in to help do and back what is being said by you guys?

Posted by Josh Longmire on 04-27-2013 12:45 PM:

Ok mike if Ron is carrying such a big load then as a friend and as an officer why ain't you helping him carry that load. Whenever your an officer you work as a team with your fellow officers. If Ron is the major contributer then we need to make some changes and get Ron some people that can share the work load of running the alliance. One man shouldn't have to carry such a load when the other 3 twiddle there thumbs. Now from what you wrote that's how I'm taking it. This is the last time ill post on this thread about it. We'll talk more about it on may 18 at 10:00 am. See you all down there.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 04-27-2013 03:52 PM:

I think that they are doing a great job. I went to the State hunt last year and it was a great hunt. GT's hunting supplies will be one of the vendors there. You have to remember, being an officer or director is not a paid position. They are volunteering their time. Without the Tn State Association we would not have the Tn State hunt. If you want to know what is going on then just find out who your local director is and ask him any questions. Mine is Allen Roberts and I can get any info that I want from him. I knew when they had the State meeting. There are no secrets. If you want to get involved then I am sure that they would love to have you. I will gladly pay my $20 to renew my membership.

Posted by Josh Longmire on 04-27-2013 07:12 PM:

Richard I'm glad you came to the state hunt last year we worked our hind end off for it to be the best hunt as possible. I know exactly what your talking about donating time for a hunt. And here is another question not being smart but last year we joined on the 18th the hunt is on the 17th we don't have to pay until on sat. The 18th right or how does that work.

Posted by Kevin37918 on 04-27-2013 07:12 PM:

I appreciate the responses. My thoughts is if you are too busy to fulfil the office then either delegate or just don't take the office. I see alot if missed opportunities by not contacting possible vendor and sponsors that's what draws a crowd! Better and more prizes. I spoke to 2 that were there last year they said as of this morning no one has contacted either of them for donations or to vend. I know one vendor who is probably the biggest dog supply co in east tn and they said they would consider coming but not at the last minute! You guys are shooting your self in the foot! If you can't get the prizes and people then you will see your hunt attendance suffer. I'd like to know whose been called, asked, and the prizes! Anyone else?

Posted by toddwicks on 04-27-2013 07:24 PM:

Richard,I paid my 20 last year. All i know is the Alliance walked out with around 4,000 dollars. I dont have a single clue were the money went.Aint heard one word from the alliance, until now, when they want our 20 bucks again.

As far as Meigs Cnty Coon Club. That is as fine a coon club as you will find. If Allen Roberts is in charge ,it will be a well ran hunt.

To show support for the Meigs Coon Club ,I will be there and will guide a cast. I also guess i will pay my alliance membership and watch them ride off in to the sunset with our money again, and not know were it went.

I do think we have a right to know as members ,were the money goes.

Is this a correct assumption ?

The coon club furnishes a place to host the hunt.
The club fixes and furnishes the food and beverages.
The club furnishes the guides.
The club furnishes the prizes.

The Alliance shows up and furnishes trophies and takes 20 bucks from everyone that wishes to have a chance at winning the hunt?

venders at hunt

Allen's Dog Supply from GA. called and said they would be at the state hunt and donating prizes for awards.
I will add to this list as I get information.

Same as me Todd ill be there to support Meigs county coon club. When we had the young guns hunt down there the boys made you feel right at home. Allen does a fine job at that club.

Posted by ssgied on 04-27-2013 09:52 PM:

One question for whom ever my rep. is, where is the membership info that was supposed to be mailed out to those that joined last year?

I came last since it was the first yr TN had a state hunt, the chance to qualify for the Nationals, Purina points and the prizes. Unfortunately, TN state is on the same weekend as bluetick days and Im opting to go to Bluetick days this year instead of TN state, otherwise I would be there. I think the assoc dues, as it GA state, is a little steep just to be able to be eligible for overall prizes. but that is an assoc decision. hope your event is successful.
