Ive seen dogs literally bark "lost" trying to find the dog they were cut with...

My buddies dog does it still...littermate brothers..mine was started on his own and rarely hunts with other dogs..if he does its his mom or brother just to keep him used to other dogs...few months ago we had them both on a bad nite...mine went hunting...his brother barked a few times after 10mins...wasnt a track bark...he was looking for his brother! He came running back to us...mine struck and he took off...he does go hunting and does fine alone...but he learned to piggy back his.mom.when he was started...now thats what he does with other dogs...

Mine started and primarily hunted alone doesnt give a hoot what any other dog is doing...he is going to find a track and tree a coon...they can pack on if they want but he is typically there first if i want it...also an honest first or 2nd strike in honest company...the pack runs off..he starts hunting.immediately...not burning outta there sniffin butts...guys laugh if he stops to take a leak...then get mad when he strikes first....their dogs sniffin each others buts blowing down the trail arent hunting..they are running down the trail

Give me the pup that is always over there by hisself trying to do things alone. Thats alot more impressive than one with the other dogs.

Is this Post about Running and treeing with older dogs?

Posted by walkers513 on 03-17-2013 07:02 AM:

I will run my female with anyone of these dead loners and prove that this is not true. This is why hunters are running with other kennel clubs. I am not going to bash anyone's dog. There are people like Tyler Vaden, Tim Osbourne, Brian Hartrum, Brian Whitted, Doug Compton, Bartley Hainz, Daniel, Wilson, Previn Blalock, Jake Gardner, Tony Ray, Mark Miller, Curt Ahring, Frank Giddings, Scott Engle, Jake Gardner, and Duke Proulx that tell you like it is. It is people like this that promote the sport. If I forgot your name I am sorry. I will hunt my dog with any dog any will never make an excuse why my dog did not measuring up. I will now sign off of UKC for ever. Thanks for supporting the sport that I love so much.

Most

Most People and dogs are scared of the dark. The only way to cure that is go out in the dark alot and get use to it. Eventually the fear is forgotten for both people and dogs. Just takes lots of hunting alone.

Oh Jesus.......here we go with another "most people don't know what a real coondog is" let me guess only you and your closest hunting buddies know what it's like to walk behind a real coondog lol this statement always cracks me up and I see it on this message board a lot.

Sir with your expertise on knowing what a real dog is and how to make one I have a hard time believing anyone or any dog can even compete with you and yours in a competition hunt ESPECIALLY not a worthless me tooer

Sure running in treeing with another dog isn't a huge feat, but its progress and there is nothing wrong with being excited about progress if it keeps you taking the young dog out another 10X. People are so life and death about dogs and there progress....geez if it gives a guy a good feeling if his dog goes out and trees with his old dog and he wants to tell the world, live and let live, it isn't hurting a thing. So many bigger issues to worry about in life.

Excellent post!!!

Just curious........how much $ do you give to the man that told you that towards his feed bill each month? Oh none? Then why on earth does it bother you so much on what his dog does and it makes him happy. Take a deep breath and relax dude. Live and let live.

no theirs plenty of people that know a dog and how to train them i hunt alone most of the time alot of the hunters around hear never take a dog to the woods alone and truley don't know a dog doesn't mean every one is that way just speaking of my experience in my area if its different in your area and every one hunts a dog right and knows what a dog should be you should have good dogs on every corner

All I'm saying is to each their own. If someone is happy with a dog who are you to tell them it's not a good dog. If people would worry about themselves as much as they worry about others the world would be a better place. What gives you the right to tell anyone what makes a dog good and what's the right way to make a dog good or how to hunt?

Their feeding it so if they like it let them hunt it but when they brag about how good their dog is at a club or before you go hunting with it and the dog dont leave your sight intill a dog opens and goes just to cover a dog that's already treed before they get there and at the end of the night their still talking about what a good dog they have they and how they would have won if their dog would just have done this or that if that's a coon dog I've turned the lights out on many a coon dog i don't tell people what to hunt or how to hunt it but don't brag on trash

i would rather have a pup that followed me until something struck to begin with than one who refused to acknowledge another dog... a dog that refuses to acknowledge another dog if its not doing anything is a complete waste and very few that start that way ever change... most of the pups that will run get with another dog when they strike i can hunt alone when they are ready and make balanced hounds out of them

They can brag on whatever they want you don't get to decide if they can brag or not. You know what's hilarious? You never hear guys that have/had a truly exceptional dog (I'm talking dogs that won world hunt, autumn oaks, etc) put down another mans dog or even comment or care what other people have or like. It's always guys like u that have to tell people how good u or your dog is and how good of a trainer u are and always worry about someone else. Get a life bro. I'm betting the reason u hunt alone the majority of the time is bc no one will hunt with u

I like one that will compete against another dog for the same coon.
Then if I am getting beat regularly I know I need to find a better track dog.
Or I could take the easy route and just breed and beat/shock for a complete loner and not worry about a track dog.

Is that what JJ was? I complete loner that wasn't a track dog that you had to Beat and shock to finish her to World Ch? Ha ha! Sounds like you need to go back to the drawing board and get a better one! Ha ha just pulling your leg alittle.

Your opinion doesn't bother me at all it the fact that you act like everyone else's opinions are wrong bc they are different than yours.
