Well Michael, you just bring your hound down hear and I got 2 places ,that i cant hunt right now. I aint taking em back in there till itsettles down.
Last year 2 yotes had my young female on the ground cutting her up.
Thanks to Larry Harvey for kicking them off of her.If not for Larry they would have killed her.
The other night when Hammer came back in with his back legs bleeding,we heard the awfullest pack of yotes in there fightin with him you ever heard. We knew what was going on as soon as we heard it. We hunt 1 to 2 dogs at a time.We dont hunt a pack of dogs. You take 8 to 10 yotes agressive that want run, they can sure work on a single hound.Generally them yotes dont bother us.but every year this time there demeanour changes,to more agressive.

Well ya, coyotes generally breed from the end of January to the end of March. Everything becomes territorial when in rut. If you know what the problems is, then a solution is generally much simpler. Run more hounds at a time. I understand what can happen when one is out by itself, so then just don't run one by itself.

Call me crazy, but we don't have problems and I guarantee we have more and larger coyotes than anywhere in TN.

When they got my gyp , it was just her ... ignoring them usually helps ... first time in 25 years I've ever had a hound get strung out .... I'd say she tree right on top of their den or just in their territory and they sensed they had the upper hand.

If you hunt long enough , you will see a little of everything .... dogs get run over , drown , fall in caves , roughed up by coyotes ... if it aint happened to you yet , it don't mean it won't .
