Mike and Jessie,you guys seem to like the same type of hound as I do and I'd say you guys would like Shady.He is pretty independent and good about having his coon.The few times I hunted with him he looked aweful good.Got a very good mouth and is a hard,chop mouthed treedog.

Zack's female off of him is the same way.Mike you hunted with my Image dog before he died.They have a mouth at least as good as his but both of them are chop mouthed treedogs.

i would like to see him go also. mabey mike i could swing by pick you up and go see him go i have to go up that way soon anyway. in my exsperience the dogs like shady that have a not so popular owner are way underrated just because the dont have a group . team or following the size of a army promoting them .

You hit the nail on the head.Estep is just a dumb coonhunter like a lot of us out there that try to keep a descent dog.Eric will call a spade a spade and I kinda like that myself too.LOL

I know it's not Slim Shadey, but I hunted with a brother to Shadey. The brother was a good looking well built dog around 60 lbs. Nice mouth, good loud steady tree dog. Pressure tree dog. I like what I seen out of Shadey's brother. I believe this brother I'm speaking of came from Estep. My friend.bought him 3 to 4 year ago.

I was gonna breed a female to him a couple years ago but thaught he died,how old is he and where is he at? Joe and Mike maybe we can get a bus and bring all the mad dogs with maybe they'll be happy dogs after they learn a thing or 2!

I hunted with shady about 2 yrs ago when i went and bought a female pup off him. We went to a public lake that had piles of dog chit all over the parking lot and i asked eric why we was hunting there and his response was i want to show you he can tree a coon. So about 20 mins before the sun set in february we cut shady loose and within 10 mins he was around 800 yrds treed. Walked in and he had a layup coon in a jungle of vines. I told eric that was good enough to impress me about the old fella so we took this female out i was looking at. She was 11 months old that night fresh snow fallin around a couple inches and around 10 degrees. I thought we was crazy huntin a pup in this but we cut her 4 times and all 4 times she had the meat. What impressed me about her was on the last turn out late at night she came treed but this tree soundin diffefent as she was just locating and never rolled it over so we walk in and she in a hole and we stand there a minute and shes workin these holes over pretty good so we back out and next thing we know shes treed flip our lights on and the coon is still climbin the tree where it came outta that hole and right then i haded mr estep the money n high tailed to ohio. She is a tight mouth when coon arent movin most likely will just come treed in the rougher months. And when coon are down movin she opens quick then opend here n there with a big locate she sucks down deep inside and then rolls em out about 100 a min.

How many Mad Dogs have you hunted with? It must be a large number for you to be making the comments that you posted. I would like to know which dogs you hunted with if you can remember their names.

FYI,the next 2 weekends I'm gonna be busy with my son for the state wrestling tournament and last 2 weekends in march ill be at rqe's! I'm free during the week!

I guess im sticking my foot in someone elses business here, and I dont condone that, but I cant find anything where he ran your dogs down.........

I understand he has a really nice female..........you might think twice about inviting him on a challenge hunt..........
