corn will make heat we feed it to our horses all yr long but cut them back when it warms up and we start working them everyday gettin ready for the pulls didnt think i would like it but my buddy started selling joy 24/20 talk me into switching to it my dogs stay fat and look good lots of energy

I guess it keeps them fat with lots of energy until it is put to the test. Still feeding suggested amounts of Diamond EA here with no drop off in weight or energy. Some should feed a better feed and they would find that they don't have to add all of the other stuff mentioned in this thread when times get tough on the dogs.

so far im liken the joy like i said my dogs stay fat and lots of energy when they get till thier noteating it and start losing weight i will change back to what i was feeding corn is good for horses but i dont think its a good thing in dog feed

i keep three dogs outside in plastic 55 gal barrels with flaps on the doors. i put blankets inside of them. i run 3 inch flex duct to each house from a small elect. heater and put a thermosate in one of the barrels. they'd be ok with out anything but that's not good enough for me. i want them to be comfortable and they are.

I don't mind the ribs if the dog is working hard, I actually prefer it. That way I know that we aren't carrying excess weight and can cool down quicker with less mass that isn't needed. I usually hover around 1/2-1 cup of the recommended amount. More if we are working hard/less if we aren't. I have never fed Proplan and been satisfied with the results save for their Performance blend. In the way that the EA is the superior Diamond product, the Performance is the superior Proplan product. I wouldn't feed any other Diamond formula and I wouldn't feed any other Proplan formula. No experience with Victor but heard good things.

long time breeder, Bert Oney used to and still does cook up alot of deer, road kills. i know he used to cook alot of coon up when the weather got rough or one needed that extra to put alittle weight on, did it on his wood stove in a roaster pan, many nights i thought about dipping into it myself. pretty cheap feed!

Yup, a fan of almost any kind of red meat. Especially wild meat as it contains higher natural creatine levels. Of course, one needs to keep that in mind when it comes to water intake. It is pretty greedy with water.
