It could be the worst thing thats ever happened to the breed.Bluetick male wins the world hunt and gets breed to 25 females the first year without knowing how he will produce.there could be alot of culling.It wouldnt help any that the guys would bring in every brood female they could find to back up to him.

SOLUTION!!

I've said this for years.....The TOP hunts should be held in spring or fall in locations when the leaves are off!!
eliminate the tree dogs and enter the 'coondog'!!
after all its about treeing coon,not trees!!

{its definitely not 1 color more than the other}

I've seen,owned and hunted with alot of 'counterfeit coondogs'.that to me aren't coondogs....but win and get the paper titles that say so!! lmao

I never got to hunt with Grover but many Walkermen told me he was a coondog that was a contender in ANY cast of dogs.

Correct me if im wrong Piazon won the 2010 world hunt and has a half brother Northern blue son which are both out of world champion Northern blue dancer.All from Ron Taylors bloodlines also piazon was a 2x world qaulifier!

ok he was high scoring bluetick that says alot i had a nice bluedog. Its what i started hunting yrs ago and after he was stolen from me havent had one as good as him or seen one as good as him in a long time reminded me of a blue walkerdog lol!

Wouldnt mind trying another bluedog if i could get my hands on the right one!

I don't think anybody beat Mikes door down to breed to piazon,piazon was bred to another world finalist and Bluetick guys weren't interested in them pups,the blood to win is there?

1.jealousy in the breed.
2.need "bigger motors" to compete in bigger 2 or 3 nights in a row hunts and late night hunt offs.
3. need to consider "out breeding" to get what they need

What I think is missing in the blues is consistency... Can't be beat one night and act like they have never been hunted another... You can't win a multi night hunt with a one hit wonder

jealousy

i hear this all the time. could it b a lack of knowledge for what the breed has to offer? for example i personally dont get to hunt with enough blue dogs of certain breeding lines to better understand how that line of dogs bred in most cases. but i have hunted with enough of some of the walker lines to get a knowledge of what they produce and they arent even my breed of intrest.
