ya == i no a guy that was running coyote dogs an they ran across my neighbers land == he got a rifle an shot both the dogs==guess what he wanted to settle it without going to court==for 8000.==but the dog owner said hes taken him all the way ===an i never did find out what he ended up paying== you dont shoot a dog unless they r killing or runing livestock == sheep or in deer pens==u js. dont

The tresspassing law here in Alabama states that a hunter has a right to enter onto anothers property to retrieve his dogs and must then get back off of it in as quick of a manner as is possible.
I have no problem with that.
I have found that as a general rule that when I am getting a new area to hunt I try to go around and introduce myself to the people who live around the area before I turn loose there. I tell them up front what I'm doing there and give them a description of my vehicles and any vehicles that might be with me. I tell them that I'm sorry if my dogs come on their place but that is not my intention but dogs are dogs and don't understand property lines. Sometimes that works sometimes they want to argue @ which time I explain that I'm not planning on encroaching on their property but that I'm just doing the neighborly thing and letting them know ahead of time so that they don't have to call the law.
Usually they give me no problems, all you have to do is return to the old ways and be neighborly, folks don't like strangers mucking about on their property and aren't near as much trouble if they know who it is. Also if they look like a hunter or act like they might be a little interested I usually offer to take them with me some night when it is convenient for them. And yes, some of them have bought dogs, lights and taken up the sport themselves.

One of the few problems we have here is some one buys an acre of land but they think they own 400 acre
