I know exactly what you asking. I know of a few "true bucket dogs". They run to it like a streak of lightning when casted and lock it down coon or no coon. The handlers of those dogs always wanna guide because their buckets are all their dog knows. They can and alot of times will shut other dogs completly out and have 225+ because alot of the time a coon will be up it. With leaves on all they get is circle points on that slick tree. They luckily have them granded before the leaves fall off. There is a stud that was finished out in 8 hunts. He has nothing else to proove so he dont get shown in the woods. Then alot of females get backed up to him because he granded so quick and in reality he aint worth more than a hollow point. So i understand why you would ask if it would hurt a breed or line of dogs and i think thats how some HAS been hurt. (note: i did not point out a breed nor any certain dog) Just joining in

Most I've seen they hit the bucket and strike and are treed withen five or ten menutes might not be at the.bucket but they ain't but maybe 200 yards from it when they tree I've got one bucket out but I hardly ever hit it mostly use it to set a trap buy to catch one or turn a barely started dog on after that its time for public land and a lot of headachs! Haha
