If your garmin is on the silent mode and you don't use it during hunt times, I can't see how a handler would have any advantage? I would rather hunt with a cast with garmins at least we wouldn't ever get lost! But like Jim pointed out it is illeagle to use electronic devises under the current ukc rules.

Dwils i totally agree with.First it will be garmins then shockers then people will be tryin to train there mutt during a hunt.Majority of the hunts ive been in there was trash runnin goin on with the handlers havin no idea. The whole point of a competing is showin what kind of hound you have trained up to be the best of the best.Dogs should have to pass a hunt test before they can be entered into a night hunt. Then thered be ALOT less BS.

I really don't see the big deal. Why people are worried about hunting against the "untrained " dog. You still have to hear your dog in order to call it and I know I can call my dog treed way before the Garmin shows it treed. If someone wants to look at their Garmin all night and not listen to their dog work let them and see how well they do. But it would be nice to have it on to know where to start looking if a dog got in a hole, brush pile, drain tile, ect where you couldn't hear them when it was time to get them back. I mean to get them back, not to walk around all hunt trying to score every dog you don't hear barking.
