Solberg Family

We would like to thank all of Tom's friends in the coon hunting fraternity that have prayed for his speedy recovery. If you know Tom, he does not back down from any challenge that has been put in front of him, and this is going to be a challenge that I know he will end up winning with his will power and determination.

Tom has been put into a short term nursing home facility where he is getting physical and speech therapy. He has been improving rapidly over the last few days thanks to your thoughts and prayers, and his determination to get back home as soon as possible. A few of his good friends and local hunting buddies have already visited him at his new room. We appreciate it very much. Thank you again for everything you have done for Tom. May God bless you all.

The Solberg family would like to thank all of the people who sent a card to him during his stay at the nursing home. It sure brings a smile to his face when I read the cards and the notes and show him the pictures. Thanks again for all of the thoughts and prayers you are sending his way. We appreciate it dearly.

Tom

Was texting with Dave tonight and he said that Tom was able to dress himself and that with the help of a brace on his right leg and therapy, he is able to take about 15 steps. On Christmas day, his grandson cruz was there with the family and was able to get Tom to actually laugh out loud. This is only sound he as made vocally but is a great start. This is all forward progress which is awesome.

Good News.........Dave said that Tom is strong enough for the intensive therapy program at LaCrosse. They are moving Tom over there on Monday. He will be there for 3 months and then hopefully, Tom will be able to live at home. Still praying for the best.

Update

Got a text from Dave P. (Raven) this morning.

Tom will be going home this coming Thursday. He still needs 24/7 care so his wife Char is taking 4 weeks off from work to care for Tom. He will still have rehab a couple of times a week and the disability folks will come up with a plan before Char's 4 weeks are up. Tom is still improving and getting stronger everyday.

Thanks for your support and prayers. Let's continue to lift up Tom and the family as this next transition takes place.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I do not kow Tom but l hunt a dog out of shadow so his hard work has provided me with a nice hound and hunting companion. I have only heard good things about him and will remember him and his family.

Dave Tom's Son

Dave called last night and we talked for about 30 mintues. I was real glad to hear from him. Everyone knows Tom is home. He has been helping out with house work but still has not been out side. He still can not talk or communicate in a way that you know he understands everything you are saying to him. One thing I thought was neat he can beat the pants off Dave at checkers.LOL! He has a cane with 4 or 5 feet on the bottom that he can get around with pretty good. Hang in there Tom we are all praying for you and spring is coming and I will be up. Your Friend, Dave Woofter

Thanks for the update! SOunds like progress...esp. at Checkers! That is awesome! Hope he continues on the road to recovery and really can't wait to see him here!
