I've hunted with Jericho and achilla, both are smooth, clean, solid tree dogs.

Awesome pix and vids

Just wanted to say how much I love these pix! Love the GOOD looking coondawgs!

HappyHunting! Heather and Bob too

PS... on a side note... our BnT Webster just had two teeth removed 2 days ago...and in some of your pix you can see those teeth PERFECTLY in your dawg...lol... those BIG HUGE back teeth... I hear they are NOT the easiest to remove since they have 3 BIG roots (when one of them is not totally rotted of that is.....) Your picture is a PERFECT view of a BIG open mouth....

Achilla is too big to get around and safely hunt now , so fat boy is fickin' to be unleashed ... not sure if I'm as excited as I am scared though , lol

It's hard to get a pic of coon at night because my camera flashes and only can see what's in the close light of the flash .. but this one was on a limb not too far up and had probably been there awhile ... on the side of a hill with a good moonlit view of a nice bottom ... and the moon was even visible in the shot but I didn't know it at the time or I'd have took some more .

Took Jericho and Achilla out yesterday morning and had a good hunt , but forgot the camera battery .. and Achilla got a boob lopped off in a fence.

Took Jericho this morning and he did some real good work ...

Posted by Dirtdevil on 05-08-2013 10:57 PM:

Thanks Heather , it's pretty rough but she is keeping it clean and it will heal but I feel for her .. more than she does cuz the tough old bird acts like she don't know she's hurt.

I had a good , short hunt with Jericho this morning ... he's a dog of many personalities but he keeps things interesting and can tree a coon at any given moment ... not sure how we ended up in a random wad of barbwire.

Posted by Dirtdevil on 05-09-2013 12:48 AM:

A jacktown mosquito can't really carry a dog off .... but two of em' gang up on a dog and all that will be left is the tracking collar.

Posted by BIGCASTLEDAWGS on 05-09-2013 01:29 AM:

LOL...

... was GLAD to see that was a skeeter and not a spider (SHUDDER!) I am not too scared of too man things...but spiders, bears and heights..well and spider above my head may cause me to run TOWARDS a bear in panic or over the edge of a cliff.... one I wouldn't peek over...lol... Skeeters are not too much fun..but not so scary!
Still thinking ouch! I know dawgs with hunt instinct will pretty much run with a broken leg... so I'm not surprised and she does LOVE her "job".... That barned wire out there like that would wreak habit on a trail ride on horseback... then again I guess that would be in daylight, Huh? LOL....

Great pix as always, hope Achilla heals up quick!

HappyHunting Heather

Good Locking Hounds

Your hounds look to me like a Black Dog should. He looks like a shorter, wide type dog. I love a medium to small hound with a short muzzle and wide head.
Thanks for the pics, video and candidness about your hounds.
It's good to see a breeder that doesn't mind telling the truth!
Good hunting to you.

Posted by Dirtdevil on 05-11-2013 11:58 PM:

I appreciate that ....You nailed it .... he even has pitbull jaw muscles and for as good natured as he is , he don't inspire you to wanna just reach down and pet him , lol .

To have started with his great grandmother still have a dog that has talent and such a unique style is rewarding ... we just hunt dogs and have fun ... I think when you do that and you know what you have ... there isn't anything in your heart missing so that you gotta fib or get too excited describing them.

If folks get a kick outta a few pics and dig how he sounds then I'm happy and did what I set out to do ...

Jericho

I would like to try one from your line down the road.
The smaller dogs work better down here with all the cut overs and Katrina damaged timber on our grounds.
Hunting in this junk ain't as much fun as it used to be and it culls a lot of dogs and so called hunters.
The biggger dogs can still tree coons but they pay one heck of a price with their bodies.
Thanks for the thread.
