They got pics and stuff of the polar caps and some of those ice layers that show them melting at a steady clip ... they if those dissapear or get too small it will mess with the climate alot .

I don't know it's a fact and that those videos aint fake ... but I lean towards them being real and that we are shifting towards a warmer climate ... will it shift back to getting colder in another thousand years or keep getting hotter ? I don't know .. and neither do they !

Guys i have to agree with this,,I will say that i have pictures of one particular glacier about 40 miles south of Anchorage Alasaka that shows a lot of meltdown/recedeing in a 3 year period between the pics being taken ! Call it whatever they are shrinking .

Now that I think of it .... I saw some show about the ice bridge in Alaska that Polar bears use to come in from sea when they have babies or something like that .... but the jist was that the ice was melting before the bears could leave land and get back to hunting and local towns and stuff were up to their ears in hungry Polar bears ...

So , some of that stuff is happening scary fast ....

I bet the Polar ice cap has been growing for the past month.

I was reading the other day that the ice cap at Antartica was the largest ever recorded this year. I guess it's due to the "globle warming"!!!

The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

Good grief, folks. Don't trust internet TABLOIDS for scientific information. You can read ANYTHING on the internet.

Google it and look for organizations that have done the research and the studies.

Read your above comment, is this SUPPOSED to be comedy? "Don't trust internet TABLOIDS... You can read ANYTHING on the internet... GOOGLE IT."

So you're saying we should trust the people who's jobs depend on global warming? Do you know how much money is being thrown at the scientific community to prove (not disprove) global warming? I'll go with the tabloids thank you...

Even your British article says there is global warming and shows pictures of melting icebergs.

Do you know that there is now enough ice melted in the Arctic Ocean to provide shipping lanes that were never available to shipping, before?

http://people.hofstra.edu/geotrans/...olarroutes.html

On the bottom of the planet, in Antarctica, a chunk of ice the size of Rhode Island, broke off an melted due to warmer air temperatures.

http://www.npr.org/2012/08/22/15978...melt-is-unclear

Thats sea ice. What about glaciers (land ice)?

Glacier National Park will soon have no glaciers.

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...rs-melting.html

Greenland is losing ice:

http://www.sciencedaily.com/release...10524104701.htm

Keep in mind this sea and land ice thats melting is not just the natural melting that occurs as part of a yearly cycle. This is ice thats hundreds, if not thousands of years old.

Some people believe Smokey the Bear to the extreme. Smokey's campfire, Only You can prevent forest fires, talk was good but it caused most people to believe controlled burning was bad. They were wrong. Global Worming montra is another way to controll actions on Private Property. It's not just the smoke you smell from burning off the woods and releasing Carbon, it is the Carbon Sequestration for farming practises that don't burn but place organic matter in the soil. In the southest we have always had controlled burning and thank goodness we do for many reasons including wildlife .

Who thinks the heat from our woods fires warms the air and causes the Earth to warm?

I live near a rock quarry where they dig up limestone. There are more shark's teeth there than you can shake a stick at. I am about 70 miles from the ocean. So that tells me that where I currently live was once ocean water. So, why is it now land?

When we break records for heat, seems like most of the time, those records are from the 60's to the 20's! My question would be, isn't the earth, or most generally the U.S. covered with concrete and asphalt? Logically, wouldn't that make the earth a little warmer? Just a thought!

Yes So the solution would be to tear it all up. LOL

i am glad you brought this up! i am currently doing research on "global drying" and as soon as the govt. sends me 100 million dollars, we will be able to start correcting this enormous threat to water creatures wy of life!

No, the solution is to quit giving millions of dollas to those scientists who keep telling the sheeple the earth is gonna burn up, and the polar bears are losing their habitat, and are starving to death.......maybe not quite in that order though!

Ok, I'm don't have the time or the desire to debate with you. This topic has been covered on this forum (look it up). I will take a moment to tell you this. The link you provided to the NASA site still shows shrinking ice in the antarctic which recently has been in the news for the massive gains. Also CO2 is part of the carbon cycle, it is not a manmade pollutant. The same carbon in CO2 is the same carbon that is essential for life. I don't deny that the earth recently went through a warming cycle but if the chart in the NASA site were correct (same as the Al Gore "hockey stick" chart) then the temps should be increasing which data proves they are not. The knee jerk reaction to the ice core samples that showed elevated CO2 levels during periods of historical NATURAL warming was to assume that the CO2 was the culprit when a 4th grade student should know that a warmer planet gives off more CO2 so figure that one out.

Also, NASA said recently that water vapor is the #1 greenhouse gas in our atmosphere. NASA scientists also claimed a warming planet would have increased evaporation leading to a "spiraling cycle" of warming that wouldn't stop due to more and more evaporation as temps rise. When water vapors mysteriously dropped on their own NASA was dumbfounded. The truth was the atmosphere had reached a level of saturation the ultimately led to... are you ready for this? here it comes.................... rain. Yeah, they forgot about rain.

you mean that same dangum rain that put out my controlled burn fire? wheeddle de dee ! Me and you must know something about Krebs Cycle. Has anybody else looked at it? Like a true LIBERAL would , I have been called a heebie jeebie for refering a Liberal to the Krebs Cycle LOL and it is obvious he never looked at it, Just rather believe in gawd Algore, LOL <LOLO<LOOLM Worship AlGORE !!!!!
If you don't plain and simple you won't get no money to prove ALLAH AL right LOL. I have not alot of time to mess with ignorance. DO You?

This doesn't mean that I don't believe we shouldn't actively protect our planet. The thing is we must do it with reason, and not out of some fanatical belief that the sky is falling.

Black river brought out RAIN!! you recon those models acting like God could have forgot about rain in the equation? His eye is on the sparrow!!so to speak.

Fact is they are scientists, plain and simple, they don't have any more clue than an artist song writer. Why are ya'll searching in all the wrong places?

Right now at 3:55 Am 10-17-12. There have been 1332 views. Of which 36 believe in Global Worming. 60 don't believe. and 13 ain't got a clue.

This thread is also doomed . Be gone by morning is my best guess. Not producing desired results. SEE who's HAND is in control is all I can figure!!

Say What??

It's happening

I'm currently working in Ohio and will be here a few years but I've made my home in Thailand since 1990. Ten years ago my wife and I built a home in a development that had never had water problems. Last year and again this year my home has been flooded, expensive to say the least, it cost me over $10,000 last year to clean, kill the mold, repaint, etc. and will again this year.

All the rivers in southeast Asia originate in the Himalayas, with the glaciers and snow caps melting at an increased rate, the rivers are full of water before the annual rainy season even starts. Consequently, the heavy rains from August thru October cause the rivers to overflow into areas previously dry, the area where I live had not been flooded since they began recording over a hundred years ago.

Whether it's man made or a natural occurance I don't know but the earth is definitely warming, some of the atolls in the Pacific are already underwater and hundreds more will be if the trend continues as expected.

Tom Humphrey
