-- What is Mojo,really? (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928269988)
You asked: from what I'm reading, winning, which is not a trait , is what they do pretty well. Added money hunts at top levels are tough anyway to win. There are quite a few winning at higher levels than there age states. It should start out good. If they are gamey ( and it sounds like they are) they'll hunt by themselves easy enough at a young age. Good looking dogs. A little mouthy on the ground at a young age but could tighten up later. Probably and a good possibility it will be a chop mouthed dog on track a tree. Alittle hard headed but sharp with brains. (which will tree a bunch of coon). Had not heard one thing about being rough... That's good! Fast dogs... Get in there quick! Obviously stAy treed... That's what wins hunts. The assessment looks pretty good, we will see. The momma is also a good hound so the pup is already ahead there too.
Anyone that doesn't like the Hissy Phitt gyp is jealous.

Mojo Dog
Glen Michels, has a grandnight dog now that he finshed and i have seen him and heard about him many times. Nice dog will put up coons quick and will often split tree. Has a great temperment and is consistant . I was impressed by him at 15 months first time I saw him.
Dog has a lot of ability and wins casts consistantly = coon dog.
Good Job Glen. Jeff A.
I know absolutely nothing of her at all other than her winning record.

Brood gyp to me is the dirtiest word in coonhunting. It's not the dogs that need culled as much as the "breeders" thinking they know how to produce top hounds.

Mojo pups are basically rat pups with hound mouths that hunt like harry dogs.....ive hunted with several I hated , but really liked Mason and Tapp. Fact is the dog is producing and I dont know how you can say otherwise. The proof is in the pudding

Since you asked.....I have hunted with 6 differant Mojo pups.Never seen any off them tree a coon.I know of one that is a complete dud. There mouths were all below average and most off them were very mouthy.I had my mind made up to breed my nice female to Mojo so it was a HUGE disapointment to see these hounds in action.Ive heard of some real nice mojo dogs but they wouldnt show them to me?Wonder why?Im sure theres some awesome dogs outta mojo out there somewhere and i know theres lots of winners but i dont think there my style.Id like to be proven wrong but dont think it will happen.
I appreciate your in put. I'll take that in consideration. Again, thanks!!!
Tap and mason had Big hound mouths, Tapp being the loudest and has what I call a "holy sh!t locate" lol.
Like any stud it all depends on what female you breed

I've hunted with 5 Mojo pups, 3 drawn in PKC added purse hunts and 2 local dogs. Tap, Green and Mason were all a cut above what you generally run into at the added purse level and that's saying lot. The other two are one year olds and one is a very nice pup, the other has a ways to go yet. I like their mouths and I like their hunting style and the night in drew Tap, my dog treed 3 and Tap beat her by 2. He went 5 for 5 and that made me a Tap fan. I've heard otherwise about him, but I saw what I saw.
Now, here comes the part where I'll prolly offend but .........Some people just don't have the knack of starting pups. If I raised 3 out of Jr and 5 out of Lipper and none of them was worth a bullet, I'd being taking a harder look at myself and less at what I'm feeding.
Just reading your post, I bet those Mojo pups are praying you pass on them.

I've hunted with three different ones. They would tree coons by themselves and work with other dogs which = cast wins. One was Karma treed 3 to my one, treed one close then we walked our guts out to mine and she treed another while we were scoring mine, and then she treed another right at the end of the hunt while the dogs were scattered to the winds. I know where there is a 4 month old right now a guy can't leave loose he will trail and tree a house cat by scent.

He's a stud generating alot of income for his owner/owners right now.
I hunt with one on a regular basis, and I try to buy him or part of him every time we go hunting. His name is Mojo's Mungo and he is the real deal. He has a great mouth and looks to boot. This dog is smarter than most 6th grade kids, rarely does his owner ever use a leash. I think the world of the dog.

MoJo is a reproducer. You mate the right female with him and you are willing to do the work, you will have a hound that you will be proud of.

Winning
Nobody can deny that Mojo is putting pups that win on the ground, that is pretty obvious. I have thought long and hard about breeding a quality bitch or two to him but the more Mojo digs I see the more I steer away from himm. You can call me particular or picky or whatever you want, but wide open chop mouthed track dogs are not what I enjoy hunting. I Know there are plenty of mojo pups out there that are different but it seems to me they are more of the exception than rule. Yes you can find bitches who's genetic traits counterbalance those traits that I see as faults but it is pretty hard to argue that the chop mouth and being wide open track dogs are strong traits that Mojo is pretty consistently throwing. I only competition hunt one night a week but I pleasure hunt alot more. Would rather have a dog I enjoy hunting the rest of the weeks rather than one I wish would shut the #@$*& up. JMO
