This is not directed towards any person. Of those of you who replied. What dog food gets you through the late rounds? And do you have any proof of these late round accomplishments. HAHA

If Im feeding 1 red solo cup a day to 2 60lb hounds and they are fat. Is that about avg? How much yall feed a day?? I got word tonight while hunting my supply is fixin to be cut off. Gonna have to swap feeds. Nobody else around sells what I've been feeding.

You know i have never fed purina because i drank the cool aid of all these professionals that say dont feed corn or beet pulp or by product or this or that .All the dog food studies trash purina(wonder who really heads up these studies),but all i can say is whenever i see a really shiny well muscled dog and ask what they are feedin its about always purina.I just wonder if all this ingredient hooplah may be getting blown out of proportion, purina sure has been around a long time with a lot of winners using it to be the junk some people claim.Thinking very seriously about switching to it.

I have a question. Why do people on here alwways bad mouth dog food they don't feed? If you don't like a brand of dog food DON'T FEED IT' I've fed many brands and found some I like and some I don't. I've even fed a brand and liked it and the next time I bought the same thing the dogs wouldn't eat it. IF YOU FIND A DOG FOOD YOU LIKE FEED IT, remember it all costs money and it's going up!

Sportsman Pride and Hunter Special AND Black gold are all made at the same mill. J have spent Hours talkin to their reps at the hunts (when I thought sportsmix was gonna be hard to get) and they impressed me.

Michael, I dont know about there, but here the only place you caan get the Hunter special, Sportsman pride feed is Freds...I was told that in my area the freds distrubutor was the only one that carried it.

I feed Sportsmans Pride 30/20. My dogs do great on it. Shiny coats, less clean up, and plenty of energy. It costs about
$28-$30 for a 50 pound bag. I am not as impressed with the 26/18 though.

I feed Ultra Advantage 24/20 and my dogs love it. I give'em 2 1/2 cups a day and they look fine. I get a dang good price on a 50lb bag. The same guy that came up with black gold came up Ultra Advantage and looks like it to. No soy, omega 3 and my dogs shine. Clean up is easy also.

victor

is simply the best!!
if u don't try it,its because of habit and/or your afraid to change.
too many recalls with "other co."
tried victor, won't go back.feed less, get more.
feeding a 63 lb female walker 25oz. a day.still put on weight.could be cut back more.
shine like a new dime,less stool,more energy.
40 lb bag ,feed less{no filler;corn/or soy}.works out the same as 50lb. of others.

25 oz is a bunch ain't it?.. Ryan. I didn't know Freds sold it. I'll go check prices there. I been buying outta a backyard

There is one more reason I don't feed it. I CAN'T GET IT HERE IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA. TRIED SOME AT AO LAST YEAR REALLY LIKED IT. Wish some dealer up here would sell it. It seemed as good as anything I ever fed and it was cheaper then what I'm feeding now.

25oz.

in a 1 qt mixing cup{i own a body shop}.didn't mean 25oz by weight..lol
prob comes out to 3 1/2 cups.
feed 1 time a day,at night.
$25-$30 a bag,depends what u get.
i feed blue bag in summer, purple during season.

Used Purina Hi Pro....best feed for the money I ever used.
Used Ultra advantage....distributor in our area stopped carrying it
Used Diamond Naturals....good feed 27.99 a bag 40 lb
Diamond Extreme Athlete....31.99 40 lb bag
Purina Dog Chow...23.99 a bag 44 lb bag
Sportmix....21.00a bag 50 lb bag.

I have noticed little difference in the impact of these feeds on my dogs. Sportmix seems to cause a bit more shine on their coat otherwise I have noticed little difference between the feeds over an extended period of time. But....cost is something even my limited experience and knowledge can recognize.

I cannot find a distributor for this feed in NC I would like to try it. I am very interested that it is corn/soy free and is not over $40 a bag.

?..........I have used Victor, didn't think it was that great, switched back to Purina, haven't found a Dogfood as good as Purina and I have tried about every brand from most expensive to the cheapest......Purina is easy to get and I have no complaints on it.

Diamond Naturals dog food receives the Advisor’s second-highest rating of four stars.
