Let the coon go
Had a pup out of cord that wouldn't bark at a caged coon. Turned coon loose when he wasn't around and when he came back by cage he started barking on track and end up treeing it. Was making a nice dog and got hit in the road at 16 months.
My favorite dog would eat with a pet coon and never pay any attention to it but tree plenty of them... didn't care anything about fighting one either.. very seldom took hold of one.
One of the best dogs I ever had, would not bark at a caged coon!
