bout 5 miles out of a small town, born and raised.

I'm surrounded by cow pasture and fields in PA Dutch Country, have an amishman down the road. It's Lancaster County though, so only about 5 mins from town, and no good places to hunt, or farm. All the rich city slickers from Harrisburg live around here in mansions on their 1 acre "ranches" and complain about a dog bark, or the smell of a cow.

I live with in the City Limits, of a small town,

But I can drive three miles, in any direction, and have a place to turn loose.

I live about 15 - 20 miles outside Milwaukee. My town has about 75,000 people. I am right in the middle of town, on a dead end road. Never had a complaint about my dogs. People in my neighborhood thought for the longest time I only had 1 dog. I have 3 Walkers, I guess everyone around here thinks I hunted the same one everytime.

i'd have to say it's city now. Lived here sence 69 and it was a small rual country town. Over the years the city spread out and all of a sudden everyone wanted to live out here, so i guess now its city...lol I hate it too. Kids just finnished school and as soon as i can im getting out a here....lol

In one state we are out in the country and in the other state we are closer to town, Top that!! LOL

I live on 6 acres and am surrounded by cornfields .... the nearest neighbor is a mile away and the nearest paved road is two miles away, the nearest convenience store is 6 miles away and the nearest wal-mart is 30 miles away. The only traffic on the road in front of the house is the school bus and the mail man and me coming and going to work LOL. Ahhh just the way I like it

We live 5 miles from the nearest small town and about 12 miles from the closest decent sized town, the town most people who live around here work in. We are definitely rural but we have quite a few neighbors. Our area is divided into 5 and 10 acre tracts. BUT since most of us live on the front of our tract, we actually have four neighbors within shouting (or bawling) distance, so we do have to take care to keep the dogs REASONABLY quiet.

I live in the city we have a post office ,three convience stores, one Dollar genral,two police cars,and one car wash.Who do you think you are two call some a city slicker!

We actually live in a tiny place called Houston (population maybe 250). Just to give you an idea how tiny... We live 30 miles from the closest hospital, major restaurants, Walmart, etc. There is a Jack's about 12 miles away though, I think. LOL

We have 2 small gas stations, a post office, volunteer fire department, and a stop sign. Pretty crowded, huh? LOL

Gotta love the country!

Hey Becky you ain't lying I went throught there on my way to Miss.LOL oh and I forgot we got a Volt. Firedepartment too . You know what the funny thing is the fire department got a ladder truck and we don't have anything in miles that is over one floor.LOL

I live in a small town in Iowa with about 1500 people in it. I have houses all around me. And a appartment complex in my back yard. My kennel is 35 feet from the apartments windows. I have had some problems with my dog when I first moved him into town, with his barking. I went to the local K Mart store and bought a $40 bark callor 4 years ago and solved that problem. I havn't used it in a year. You can live in town with a REAL Coonhound but you got to remember. Not every buddy likes your sport or your dog and it's your responsibility to keep the peace. If you think that you are any better of a hunter because you live in the country you will be subprised where some of these hounds live. I know some guys that have nice hounds that live in the Twin Cities of Minn in thier houses and apartments.

unfortunately I live in town. I have lived in town most of my life. Spent a couple of years on the farm. I miss it. Also has forced me to reduce my number of dogs.

WE USE TO LIVE RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THE CITY LIMITS 20YRS AGO, THEN DECIDED TO MOVE FARTHER OUT BECUZ THEY STARTED THIS NEW ORDINANCE ABOUR ONLY ABLE TO HAVE 6 DOGS OR LESS. SO WE MOVED OUT TO THE COUNTRY, AND IT IS NOT TO BAD. BUT IF I COULD I WOULD GET MY DAD TO MOCE WAY OUT INTO THE COUNTRY WHERE NOBODY IS AROUND FOR MILES AND THE DOGS COULD HAVE A LITTLE MORE RUNNING ROOM.

As I stated above, I live in town, and the neighbors don't like the barking. I try to keep the barking down, and even bought a bark collar. But with my family out of town, last Friday, some neighbor called the police and I got a warning about my dogs barking. It really irritated me; because I don't know which one it was, and I spent the weekend at home, and they hardly barked at all. Anyone else have the police called because their dogs barked?

I live 6 miles from a bump in a state highway , 15 miles from town of 6500 . Call our little comunity Dark Corner. Have a liqurestore-grocirystore-gas station-resturant about 4 miles from me . Ex neighbor wanted to establish a township , noticed I said ex. Sent him and his along there way.LOL

i grew up in mahaffey pennsylvania which is smack dab in the middle of no where. used to shoot ground hogs off the porch. now i have been in the marine corps and have lived in jacksonville nc, martinsburg wv and now albany ga. i have lived in town and in the country during this time but the one constant is ialways got a hound dog in the yard.

I live in town, small Missouri town with about 2000 ppl, I also have between 8 to 10 adult dogs plus puppies at any given time. I have yet to have a complaint on the noise,now I either have GREAT neighbors or Im doing SOMETHING right with my hounds

I live in town my dogs are ten yards away from my back porch on top of that I live in a apartment with tons of neighbors. But my dogs don't bark even when I take two out of three hunting or even one. They know better and I don't have bark collars on them they are just smart and well trained and that's the way I like it. Hopefully by next year I will be in the country if my wife will agree.

I live in the country,but to close to a state hiway to turn a dog loose here. Ialso have amish neighbors who are always speeding
up and down the road in buggies and wagons. Nice folks though
one day when i was at work my bluetick broke his chain, so they caught him before he got out on the road.

mom and dad still have a farm i can hunt on.

i live about a mile out of town limits....

but am on a busy raod...leads to the jail, post office industrail park ect. Live in a subdivision. moved here in nov. Miss the country. have 3 dobermans outside and Bruiser (bluetick) inside..and our neighbor on the right side is constantly compalinin about my dogs barkin but yet she doesnt bother to tell her dog who barks almost 15 hrs a day lol to shutup so i miss t5he country thats for sure. located in dublin,Va.

i live on 40 acres about 6 miles from town but the town is very small

We live on a dead end dirt road with one other neighbor about 1/4 mile away, woods all around us. The town population is around 800. Size of the town is 48 square miles with 52 miles of town road running thru it,mostly dirt roads or old cow paths lol. Over the past 5 years we have seen an increase in people moving in and a lot of them are weekend homes. Was once mostly farm land, small dairy farms. One store in town with a gas pump, and some food and milk to buy, still have the regulars at the coffe pot every morning telling there storys about the one that got away or you shoulda seen the buck i see the other day. I'm afraid though that in the next ten years this little comunity will grow and what im used to seeing and being around will change.
